I chose to stay here for business even though there are closer options to work and always receive a warm welcome. The rooms are large and comfortable with a sizeable desk. The restaurant has plenty of choices and daily specials on and the breakfast buffet is brilliant with pretty much everything you could think of. The only niggle for me is I prefer a separate shower to the fixed shower head over the bath set up but I noticed the rooms are being upgraded so maybe this will happen at some point. By far the best part of The Copthorne is the lovely staff who work tirelessly to make my stay comfortable. Too many to mention although a special thank you to Shelley and Liam who go above and beyond - it’s really appreciated when you’re away from home!
We are two ex pats from the Brierley Hill/Quarry Bank area who, when visiting, always stay at the Copthorne. It is home from home for us and the staff are like family. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, especially the receptionists Donna and Gillian, who always look after us. It is an ideal location for restaurants and pubs and, if you like shopping, the Merry Hill Centre is within walking distance. We would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family home and abroad.
Stayed here for one night while working in the area, my go to is a Premier inn and I’d been staying in one all week however this was cheaper than the nearest when booked through Booking.com and it didn’t disappoint. I booked a club room which was huge with a fridge and complimentary water and snacks mars bar, also had all the usual in these type of hotels safe, iron and board, hairdryer etc. Plenty of desk space for me to work at with plenty of lights. A huge comfy bed plenty of lovely pillows, the best nights sleep all week, acoustics were fantastic couldn’t hear a thing. Donna on the desk was a little star very helpful, my room was prepared by Sam who had done an exceptional job it was immaculate and very welcoming. Breakfast included in my room rate was fantastic huge selection and all piping hot. Will definitely stay again.
A great hotel! We came to the West Midlands for a staycation and had a terrific time here. The hotel is well situated for lots of family friendly activities, and the Executive Suite was perfect for us. Yes there are a few bits that look slightly dated, but everything was in perfect working order, and looked after. Anything that we needed was there; fridge in the room with complementary soft drinks and snacks a huge bonus, toiletries, spare bedding and towels were available quickly. Not having to use a key card for the electricity was a bonus. The housekeepers were delightful and chatted to my children, although I'm sure they were bothering them! We ate in Faraday's restaurant 3 nights and all breakfasts. Vikki and Jonathon were amazing and what made us come back each night. They, along with the kitchen staff, went above and beyond to provide suitable food for my young family. They were both very personable and got to know us as a family, which the kids loved. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.
I recently stayed here for a number of weeks while working in the area. The hotel is comfortable and is in close proximity to the Merryhill Shopping centre. The staff are what sets this hotel apart. All are pleasant and welcoming and noting is too much trouble for them. A special mention to Vikki, Jon and all the team at Faraday's restaurant for your welcome and quality of service every morning and evening. The food here is great and a great variety on the menu. Thanks for everything. Hope to be back again soon. Rooms: Rooms were comfortable and came with complimentary tea and coffee and toiletries. They were only cleaned if you advised you wanted them done. Food & drinks: Huge choice of breakfast which is self service and a great menu for lunch and evening meals. Service very quick.
Staff lovely but this is definitely not a 4* hotel. The rooms are incredibly dated and grubby. Humming noise coming from bathroom and smell. Stains on curtains, windows super dirty. No plugs beside your bed and the so called charger doesn’t work.Rooms: 1/5
Stayed 2 nights with work. Lovely rooms, big comfortable bed. Decent sized bath. Good views from floor 4. Nice to have a window that opens to tilt for some fresh air. Excellent breakfast choice. Use of the pool a bonus. Opens nice and early. Lovely pool. All staff professional, helpful and friendly I. Hotel, bar/ restaurant and leisure centre. Rooms: Nice and big, well maintained, huge tv on wall.
Great space in the Club room with superb friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Enjoyable stay. A few areas showing signs of wear & tear would benefit from management attention and investment to bring the rating to 4 star. Rather noisy bars across the water, but windows blocked most once closed. An enjoyable stay, I would return as the location is great.
Rooms were a little dated but comfortable and very clean. All the staff i came across were very kind helpful and caring. We stayed for 2 nights due to my husband having surgery at a nearby hospital. I felt anxious being alone but all the staff reassured me and made my stay comfortable. A lovely lady on reception allowed me to keep my room for an extra hour. Beverley the waitress at breakfast was amazing. Copthorne Hotel you should be proud of all your hard working staff. Safety: You could only use the lift by scanning you room card.
We booked an executive suite at the copthorne merry hill ,this was our wedding room, on arrival the room was clean tidy on the 1st floor. I was a little disappointed by ...I had to ask for a hairdryer, the mini fridge was stocked with soft drinks 2 bottles of water and 2 mars bars. stayed for 2 nights neither the coffee or fridge was re stocked for the next day, and was told it only gets stocked once. Which by the morning of the wedding there was nothing. As it was our wedding day I would have expected a bottle of fizz to celebrate. Rooms: Executive suite was roomy and comfortable Food & drinks: Food was nice, expensive but nice, bottled water £3.00 for a small bottle
