I always enjoy my stays here and the hotel is in a great location. The waterfront is a few minutes walk away and has a good selection of bars and restaurants and it's also good for an early morning run. The atrium in the hotel is one of my favourite - so bright and a lovely view. Service was, as always, great - very friendly and welcoming. Our room had a great view, was a good size and was quiet and clean. There was a lack of plug points but no other issues. Breakfast was the usual Hilton buffet and had a good choice of food as well as nicely spaced tables with the view across the river. There is a good sized car park that is free for Hilton Honours Diamond members.
First off, this Hilton offers great views from the public areas. In terms of connectivity, the hotel is an undemanding and picturesque stroll from Newcastle centre. There is overnight parking that is reasonably priced, a feature I value greatly. The hotel feels clean and modern. The staff are typically very friendly and helpful. The rooms are decent; air conditioned, floor to ceiling blackout curtains, comfy beds and even the rooms I have stayed in nearer to the traffic / bridge were quiet. The breakfast staff are always cheery and the breakfast includes non-dairy milk options and the fresh fruit was good quality I hope it stays at that standard. The restaraunt food is 'hotel food' but does the job and reasonably priced. Overall, I really like this hotel a lot and I am a returning customer to it. Hilton seem to have a magic formula for employing staff, always so friendly. The executive lounge is pleasant for catching up on work but even if my stay does not include access to it I still enjoy views from the public bar / seating area. I hope Hilton keep this hotel in their portfolio. It is one of my favourites along with Glasgow Hilton, Manchester in that skyscraper and Docklands with the cool boat ride to get to it.
Would have given five stars throughout, but the road works next to the hotel made it difficult to get in. Accessible parking and throughout the hotel. Great staff, a huge credit for Hinton, they are friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Made our stay really special. It is very difficult to get around walking or pushing wheelchair outside the hotel as there are hills everywhere.
Very nice hotel, conveniently situated for walking downhill and over the bridge into Newcastle. Very steep climb on the way back. Rooms are clean, quiet, tidy and comfortable, although the lighting in the rooms could be a bit brighter. Evening meal was very tasty, breakfast was buffet and plentiful. Lovely, friendly staff in the hotel and the people of the area are just so friendly.
Nice hotel with good location but…… The rooms I have stayed in are feeling dated. Always clean though. Check in whenever I have been is only ever manned by one person. This has been at peek times so can take a while. If you haven’t ordered breakfast you get it cheaper if you order at check in rather than at breakfast. I wasn’t told this though. The room service app let me go through the ordering process but then crashed out. Had to order over the phone and when it turned up the bill was more than the app said it would be. This was corrected at check out though. Parking is covered. Just drove past the hotel and you’ll see it. £14.99 a night. Ridiculous.
Very nice hotel situated a stones throw from Newcastle City centre. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would have given 5 stars but I raised an issue with reception about a fault in my room and it was never looked at. Shame really but otherwise the reception staff are always happy to help.Rooms: 4/5
For the price I definitely expected a nicer room. Decent size and view however it is very basic and dated, bathroom definitely needs an upgrade too. I unfortunately had dirty towels and there where dirty splashes on the walls too. Oddly enough there's barely any lighting in the room. Staff where okay, wouldn't hurt to smile though. The concierge was the nicest there. Had housekeeping walk in on us at even though I shouted twice that it wasn't needed at 9.30am despite checkout being at 12pm. Diamond member but wouldn't stay at this particular Hilton again.
Great hotel. Rooms well equipped and clean. Location convenient. There is a small gym & pool which is decent and free for hotel guests. Restaurant is fine for dinner and breakfast is satisfying. Good views from the rooms if you on the side overlooking the river. Would visit again. Rooms: Clean, well equipped. Safety: Felt pretty safe throughout my stay. Walkability: Walking distance from the city centre. Food & drinks: Restaurant is good and so is the bar. Nice views too.
I always like the Hilton but this one is one of the best. Firstly the location is simply superb looking over the bridges and, if you get the right room, then the views are great. The hotel itself is also great. Its is superb condition and is very well laid out. The rooms are getting old but are still in good condition. Also, the bar and restaurant is great and also has superb views over the Tyne. So, the location combined with the excellent service makes this, in my view, one of the best Hiltons. Its a destination hotel; not just a place to stay.
The stay was gorgeous. Receptionist was courteous and room was clean and elegant. The restaurant offered a variety of breakfast items. Car park is slightly expensive at £14 per overnight stay. Overall, pleasant experience. Will definitely reside there again.
