Excellent location and a good size room with doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the river. The restaurant was very good. A buffet breakfast with plenty of choice and a delicious dinner menu. The staff were quick, efficient and friendly. We were part of a coach holiday but would stay again.Rooms: 5/5
From the moment I arrived, the Hotel impressed me. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My room was exactly what I needed - clean, tidy, and comfortable. But the true star of the show was the view! Gazing out the window at the river was breathtaking. The view was truly awe-inspiring, and I spent many peaceful moments just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Even though it wasn't a balcony, the large window offered a perfect frame for the stunning river vista. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a relaxing solo trip, or a base to explore the city, this is a perfect choice. The combination of friendly staff, a clean and comfortable room, and that incredible river view makes it a place I would highly recommend.
Excellent hotel & nice food. Amazing room view over the River Tyne. Room was a bit hot but there was a portable fan in room. Very noisy from regular trams not hotels faultRooms: 5/5
This is our second time staying here and on both occasions we have been very pleased with our stay. Would definitely recommend, clean rooms and friendly staff. Check in and check out was quick and made easy by doing it online before hand.Rooms: 4/5
Some reviews say this place is dated, but I found I had a great experience here. Brilliant location right on the river Tyne with floor to ceiling windows, short walk from Newcastle rail station.Best most comfortable sleep in great bed. Easy to reach the city centre on foot but it is up a ramped/ stepped climb. Really lovely promenade right outside the hotel rear, and really nice friendly service by reception and restaurant staff. Only 1 drawback was no room service was available. I do, however, plan to return.
This was our second stay at the Copthorne and we will certainly be making more visits. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the accommodation was excellent. Our suite was well furnished and had great views along the river - the hotel’s position on the river front makes this a great location for views and also for access to all the bars, restaurants and galleries. The handy parking with direct access from the hotel lobby is a definite plus. Keep up the good work. Rooms: Our room was spacious, comfortable and well furnished. Nearby activities: There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance and many galleries and exhibitions are nearby.
Nice ambience in the lobby, really lovely staff very welcoming and engaging, spacious room, good furnishing but that’s about it. It sure needs a makeover. The room had two single beds with a bedside table in between which had cables so you couldn’t actually put the beds together if you wanted to, the bathtub was old and rusty, the mirrors dusty and the breakfast to go was a nap with a cup of tea which cost £7! The hotel is a 3 star hotel in my opinion and not worth the amount paid for it. Rooms: Spacious and well furnished but could use some renovation touches. Lovely view of the Tyne River Nearby activities: Plethora of pubs, bars, restaurants and places to visit nearby. Walkability: Nearby to the station, restaurants and bars as well as the quayside. Food & drinks: Expensive, best go to proper local restaurants. Had the vegetarian bap and a cup of tea to go for £7, probably worst breakfast I’ve ever had
The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the station. The staff is friendly, breakfast is great. They also have their own bar and restaurant. Hotel is right in front of the river so great river views. I was staying in the suite. The room was clean and well facilitated. All the electricals were working well. Overall it is great value for money and affordable. Highly recommended.
We really liked this place once we found it... Road works not the hotel's fault. Excellent value for the price, great staff friendly, helpful, competent, super location along the river, nice and clean. We only had breakfast and the food was average but plentiful. This was the least expensive accommodation during our three week trip to the UK, Belgium and Netherlands and one of the best.
We have stayed before, and booked because of our previous experience here. The room was spotlessly clean. The view was amazing. A comfortable stay, with everything we needed,Rooms: 5/5
