I don't get all the negative reviews for this hotel. Don't be scared off by them. I just spent 6 nights there with my son and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff is amazing. I'd like to give a shout out to Gigi and Elga at the front desk for using creative thinking to solve a problem I had. And the breakfast is excellent. We could have had a different meal each day there was so much variety. On-site restaurant also had great food and service. Yes the rooms are a little tired but our room/bedding/linens were very clean and comfortable. Yes we could have used an outlet next to the bed but that really wasn't a big deal. Location is great and walking to the tube is easy. There's a huge mall with tons of stores/restaurants next to the tube stop. I'd stay here again if in Shepherd's Bush area.
I wasn’t looking for a five star luxury hotel. Just a place that was clean, quiet, comfortable and reasonably priced. The Hilton London Kensington served my needs very well. Room was small but immaculate. Hotel staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. Buffet breakfast was very enjoyable, with a broad selection and even some plant-based choices, which were appreciated. The hotel is just a short walk to the Shepard’s Bush station on the underground. There’s also a bus stop conveniently located directly across the street from the hotel. I don’t understand the negative reviews. This hotel gets five stars from me!
I would be disappointed if this was a travel lodge and I paid £40. For a Hilton branded 4 star hotel, this did not even touch the sides of expectations. The hotel is old and dated, the restaurant and bar area feels like a Drs reception, and the rooms are tiny. The only upside is being able to collect points that I can use in a better location.
4/10 not recommend for personal preference. ROOM 4024: rating is 2.5. Average and smelled like elderly persons mothballs. Rooms definitely need a renovation/upgrade. No USB or wall outlets near the bed. No full size mirror. Bed was comfortable. Pillows too soft/squishy for my preference. No noise issues during our stay. BATHROOM: Tub/shower combination very outdated. There is a cloth shower curtain and paint peeling around door and tub. Small size but there is enough counter space. CLEANLINESS: room was clean but with it being outdated there definitely are noticeable areas of “grime”. SERVICE: Nothing special and average at the check-in. Service wasn’t friendly from the lady checking guests in during breakfast did not say good morning or smile or was not in the slightest welcoming. We did receive an average bottle of wine in the room for special celebration which was a nice gesture. LOCATION: Nice and easily accessible to buses and trains. Within walking to several restaurants and shopping as well. Felt safe during our stay. Overall: This hotel gets the job done if you just need a decently clean and comfortable room/bed and a good area to stay in. Conference was happening during our stay so it was pretty busy. Would request and updated room if they have them available.
Stayed with family to be close to the carnival route as we were participating. Room was a bit small as others have already commented on bit was fine for us as we were hardly in it. It was clean and tidy with everything that we needed. Service was quick when items were requested. Staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect spot for if you want to be close to carnival. Nearby activities: Shopping and dining in Westfield and Notting Hill Carnival
The bathrooms had room for improvement, the showers had poor pressure and the shower stalls might leak onto the toilet floor, so you should ask for several large towels. Try to get a view somewhere other than the courtyard and other people's rooms. The location is excellent - quite quiet, even though it is right next to the center. Sightseeing buses and other buses practically leave from the parking lot. Noteworthy details: Osta jänniteadapteri ja muut pikkuvärkit muualta kuin hotellin rihkamakaupasta. Siinä säästyy selvästi selvää rahaa.
The hotel overall is very nice the food and drink are expensive but tasty. The only gripe I have is about the room there was hair not mine found in the shower and the pillows were terrible and looked fluffy but as soon as you lay on them they went to pancakes.Rooms: 3/5
I know this may seem shallow, but for an extended stay, I really valued the larger rooms than many of the hotels down in City of London. Great hearty breakfast in the morning with a lot of variety. Tube stations close by. Pharmacy, meat market, and fresh produce just down the street. And of course, around the corner from all the colorful homes of Notthing Hill.
Small rooms and worn down standard. Several light switches did not work, and at least the 6th floor would benefit from a lighter renovation. Everything was clean, however, and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was excellent, but space is not unlimited, so you might have to wait in line for a minute or two if you show up at rush hour. Nothing that bothered, really. Rooms: At least the single rooms were small but well planned. Bed was creaky but comfortable. Very clean and restocked with water, tea, biscuits etc daily.
Check in was fine but the girl checking us in was quiet as a mouse. Had no idea what she was saying and she couldn’t make eye contact. But ok. Room was comfortable, could’ve done with a power outlet by the bed but it is what it is. Breakfast and service at breakfast excellent. Only complaint is with housekeeping. We left the sign in the room from 08:00 but room wasn’t cleaned when we returned at 14:00. When we finally came back at night, only the most minimal “cleaning” possible had been done. Dirty cups were left behind, most towels were taken but not replaced. So overall not bad but with some small issues.
