Booked on a recommendation and wasn't disappointed. The room was upgraded, clean and presentable. Front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming. Beds were very comfortable, decent size bathroom. Some signs of a rush job cleaning the bathroom the bath handle needed a good clean! Breakfast buffet the next morning was wide ranging and tasted very nice. I'd certainly use the hotel again for my next London visit
Had a great experience staying at this hotel. We had booked afternoon tea at 12 and were given an early check in. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. All staff at the hotel were very kind and helpful, we stayed on one of the hottest days and the air conditioning was amazing. Nearby activities: Close to local shops and restaurants in Islington. Food & drinks: Good choice at breakfast.
We picked this Hilton as Islington was a suggested neighborhood while visiting London. Overall a not very good value for price but a standard Hilton offering in a fun neighborhood. Pros: Near the tube/bus routes but away from the hustle-bustle of it all. The room stayed a very nice 18 65 degrees for us and the shower was great. Cons: The bed wasn't particularly comfortable or quiet, especially for the price point... and the price point was kind of nuts overall $300+ per night for what is a standard Hilton offering. The check-in process was also not a net positive. Rooms: Great shower, HVAC works really well but bed wasn't comfortable. Nearby activities: Lots of pubs, restaurants both chain and local but limited selection for early morning/breakfast. Safety: Generally seemed really quiet and safe, all hours of the day.
Not to the standard of other Hilton Hotels we've stayed at. Corridors a bit grubby Rooms a bit dusty - surfaces of lamps etc Cooked breakfast items just lukewarm, not helped by being served on cold plates. However, the all the staff were super friendly, and the location excellent.
It needed two attempts but we enjoyed an afternoon tea on the second visit. This Hilton must have one of the most antiquated booking systems in the UK. The only way to book an afternoon tea was to call. Turns out there’s no phone in the restaurant so you have to rely on the reception staff passing on the booking. They failed. We had to rebook and on the second visit all went well. The food is average but the staff were helpful and accommodating. I had a gluten free option which has to be pre-booked and the bread was dull. But the scone was good and the little cakes tasty. There’s not much of an atmosphere because it was pretty empty but we were grateful for air conditioning on a very hot day. It was quiet and calm if that’s what you’re looking for. Food & drinks: Afternoon tea was definitely not the best I’ve had but if you want a quiet place with no rush then this is it.
Each since since 2015 we have attended an exhibition at the Business Design Centre, which is approximately 30 paces from the hotel front door. Within a 15 minute walk there must be 30 restaurants and pubs of a wide variety of cuisines at an equally varied range of prices. Some good and some very good ... haven't been in a 'bad' one yet. Each year the hotel has failed spectacularly in delivering for us some aspect of it's service offer. It's never been a great Hilton, but it has a superb location. This year. Maybe management or owners have changed? However, at long last, it's a good Hilton Hotel. Good breakfast, reasonable dinner, very good service. All in all a much more pleasant stay 4 nights than in all previous years. Well done Hilton Islington team.
Stayed here year after year for the tradeshow - all in all, location is great! However, if you have ANY ISSUE with booking, it is the WORST nightmare. Somehow Expedia and Hilton couldn’t figure out my reservation definitely lost somewhere in their system - i called the Hilton number a week before and had a daily int’l call to find the booking between Hilton and Expedia. And a day before my trip, i was assured that my room will be all ready for me upon arrival in London. Oh wells - the hotel was not informed about any of my previous conversations, and i ended up sleeping on a floor of my colleague’s room! HILTON needs to figure out its messed up central booking system…it was the worst experience and int’l phonecall -maze with endless call transfers among different parties. Hotel facilities and staff onsite itself are fine - but their internal system with Hilton is a nightmare.
The staff were generally incompetent. I checked in to a filthy room, with a sink full of hair. The staff told me I would be able to switch rooms, but after I packed up my belongings, they said the hotel was fully booked and swap would not be possible. There is a nightclub/bar next door that plays very loud music. It stops at 11 or 12, but it makes it hard to go to be early for business travelers.
Great location, close to everything one may need. Great buffet brekky. Nice business lounge. Helpful and attentive staff. Large family room, but dated. Comfy beds. Enjoyed our stay.
I usually love staying at the Hilton chains and it’s my go to option, but when we arrived at this hotel the bathtub hadn’t been cleaned, and the bath tub and sink wouldn’t drain. They couldn’t change our room as the hotel was fully booked. We had to call twice before someone came to fix the drain and it was a full 24 hours before we could use the shower. They provided me with an email to contact about our stay. I emailed and followed up three times, and still have not heard back in spite calling twice. It’s clear they don’t plan on responding, and for the price of this hotel the service was extremely poor
