Reviews
Excellent stay rooms clean and beds comfortable toilets and showers clean on and on same floors. Breakfast good but far to many people in the dining room as struggle to find seats. Would be a good idea for 8am till 9am one sitting then 9am till 10am 2nd sitting as a trial Because it should not take over 45 min to have a breakfast and a drink and for people to take 2 hours or more to eat breakfast. The bus stop outside the hotel is very handy but getting on and not knowing you need to buy a oyster card from the train station for £7 for a £1.75 journey. Overall a excellent stay. Rooms: Rooms clean and comfortable beds. Extra pillows is needed but I suppose in request they would supply is asked at reception
First, this is not a hotel. This is the student Hostel of the London School of Economics Hence LSE, so do not expect star hotel facilities. If you have stayed at an international hostel before, you'll love it. They have a kitchen at all floors where you get a microwave, an induction, a toaster and an electric kettle for yourself. However, unlike other hostels, they do not provide utensils, so that's a problem. Rooms are great for a quiet sleep. There's a work desk and a basin as well in the room. The toilets are super clean but they should have been bigger given the huge number of rooms they cater to. Best part is the 'all-you-can-eat' breakfast which is superb. The Mocha Coffee at their machines is one of the best I've had. Location is a major plus point. The buses 38 and 341 takes you to most central places in London at 1.75 pounds and they can be availed from the Finsbury Town Hall bus stop right across the hostel gates. The nearest tube is Angel, a 10-min walk. There's a coop at Tysoe street for essentials at a budget. Safety: Perfectly safe place. Walkability: Excellent walkability. Parks are nearby. Walk down to Tysoe street for the markets or to Angel for the tube--all in less than 10 mins. Food & drinks: The Exmouth Market area, at 2-3 mins walk has got great bars, pubs and restaurants.
This is an accommodation only for those on a super tight budget AND those who are very young. The rooms are extremely small and the walls are paper thin. The bathrooms and showers are shared by males and females of all ages. There is zero privacy. I do not recommend it. Rooms: Comically small. The beds have small mattresses, and the sheets are thin.
The accommodation as such was very good as was the location. Clean rooms and clean shared sanitary facilities. I stayed for 2 nights with my son. A different concept than a hotel, but more than enough to explore London easily by metro Angel station or bus 19 just outside the door.. and above all much cheaper. Too bad that one event made the general good evaluation melt away. During breakfast on 17.08.2024 at 08:25 a lady African origin, about 35 years old, red/orange braids was responsible for serving the hot meals. She was exceptionally rude and snapped at the guests. She actively searched for reasons to give admonitions, both to guests and her younger male colleague. When I went back for an extra hot dish 1st time, she suddenly started yelling to me. An incoherent story about how the dirty and empty plate had to be shown first although I had cleared it in the place provided for that purpose. I was both offended and unpleasantly surprised. I didn't argue but left the breakfast immediately. I ended up eating in a restaurant. Too bad, because the breakfast was plentiful and looked tasty. Exceptionally unfortunate how one extremely unpleasant employee ruined an otherwise pleasant stay.
Was booked in here by work, currently searching indeed as i write this! Who the hell has written the decent reviews for this place??? Thank god its just one night! Its constant banging of doors and weird water noises but even if it was quiet the beds make the floor look appealing, seriously save your money and sleep in the street, it will be better than this! Rooms: Awful
The location is excellent, conveniently close to both Liverpool Street and King’s Cross stations. The breakfast was a highlight, offering a wide variety of options including sugary waffles, croissants, and unlimited coffee. Considering all these factors, I found it to be very good value for the price.Rooms: 4/5
I guess you get what you get with staying at a dorm room for a night. The room was clean, just the mattress was awful, however only got a few hours of sleep as I was out on a stag night in London. The breakfast was simple and the whole stay served its purpose. However, I will not be staying here again.Rooms: 3/5
Staying here as a first year hence using an alias: Appalled by the catering service: the two female staff Gladys and Yetunde are extremely rude and yell at you if you take both a fruit and a yoghurt. Please teach them some manners. The male staff on the other hand are respectful My room is quite nice though it does get loud sometimes. The location is alright, it's a half an walk to campus and there's a Co-op nearby.
The breakfast provided was very substantial. The room itself is a student hostel, with the toilet and shower area being shared facilities. It was a bit embarrassing to see a guy walking in the corridor wrapped only in a towel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can store your luggage without any additional charge, although it is at your own risk.
The were a few issue with noise but all in all a great stay. Rooms: Perfect for one person Safety: Very secure and I felt welcome and safe.
