Since they updated the booking system have been a patient for 3 years, getting GP advice is so quick and simple. Most doctors were fantastic with me and my family. I had a terrible experience with a nurse who DENIED checking the stitches of my surgery after giving birth to my daughter during my POST NATAL CHECK; had to go to A&E a few days later and they were horrified since that was expected to be done in the check. Apart from that not a minor incident imo, my experience has been very good
I'm very grateful for the care I've received at the surgery. The eConsult has worked really well for me and I'm so impressed by the speed of response and the willingness of the GPs I've spoken with to help. The reception staff are always fantastic, too, in my experience. Thank you all.
Some of the doctors are great, others are terrible. I have since changed practises. The incident that broke the camels back for me, was when without my consultation an asthma nurse changed my inhaler without telling me. I had a consultation and was taking more than I would usually do as I had covid and weather changes that affected my asthma. This nurse then changed my inhaler to a different model, an inhaler with a different button press but one that I have never come across. It felt like she did this out of spite as she didn’t listen to me during the consolation. At my new practise I have had a consultation with their asthma nurse and they have put me back on my previous model and asked why I had been changed. When I told them, they were horrified. I understand that doctors probably get a lot of hassle with their occupation, but it was unwarranted and could have seriously effected my health
This is the best GP surgery I've ever been too in London. They have been really good to me and my family. The GP called me up a few times after a bereavement, just to see how I was. Fairly easy to get a phone appointment, and they listen to you. The nurses are amazing and even bandaged a deep second degree burn while other GPS would make you wait 12 hours in A&E, putting strain on emergency services. I think it's hard to get an appointment face-to-face anywhere nowadays and the practice does really try.
Overall, the care is very good and the Service from staff too. But I wonder if you could improve the liaison with the Chemist about prescriptions. Thank you.
Per the previous reviews, if you can get in contact with a GP they are excellent. The main problem with Hetherington is actually getting an appointment. A same day appointment can only be booked between 8am and 10am which obviously does not work for many. I called again today at 8:10am admittedly between Christmas and New Year when they only had two GPs on duty, but I had been in pain since Christmas Day and not been able to secure an appointment yesterday and there were still no appointments available, however this is not unusual outside of the holiday season. You cannot book an appointment with a GP in the future to discuss less urgent health concerns you may have - only same day appointments if you are very lucky. The online e-consult system is a joke and definitely not fit for purpose, as has been mentioned several times in previous reviews. The surgery's records still have not been digitised and made available online therefore my hospital consultant is unable to check my medical records when he needs to. Prescriptions are now only electronic that take at least two working days, which is fine for a repeat prescription but not for a one-off prescription when you are in pain and needing/wanting to start your treatment as soon as possible to relieve the pain. The GPs are excellent but they are massively let down by the administrative team in this practice. The management of this practice need to perform a thorough review of their administrative processes and overhaul them so patients' care is prioritised. It appears that the current situation places patients secondary to the surgery's administration. As a result, and for all the reasons detailed above, in the new year I will have to seek a practice that operates in the 21st century where they put the patient first.
I hardly visit Hetherington Group Practice. The GPs from my past experiences had been largely supportive and they had attempted to ensure that I get a hospital referral as soon as possible. The receptionists were brilliant in the past too. I have just rang the surgery about 12.15pm -12.20pm to ask if I could get a GP call back tomorrow regarding my repeat prescription from the hospital. She replied 'call back tomorrow at 8. OK'. Times have changed. The old days of good telephone manners have gone.
Nightmare booking system. The doctors I’ve dealt with have been generally excellent hence three stars not one but the booking system is a joke. It’s impossible to book an appointment ahead of time and instead you have to call at 8am for a same day appointment or use a terribly complicated e-consult system. It’s a real shame because the doctors themselves are great, but the booking system is terrible.
Worst practice I ever been with I travel a lot and lived in few places around the world. Hetherington group is awful. The worst When you need your mads. Forget about it. Like blood pressure. For example. I have called few times. The rude lady basically say to wait a week to just speak to someone. I am like. Ok but I am out of mads. And I will need it. It’s can be risky going with out it. Or any other mads They don’t care. I been a with them for over a year. I never got to meet my GP. They never picked up calls when you need. They send you a link. Talk to the hand basically. Stay away. This place is not good
This practise is undoubtedly the best, quick appointments and the most kind hearted Gp’s. I give my up most respect to the Dr’s here who were so kind, honest and supportive towards my brother before he had passed and after as they were also very compassionate and supportive to me during the time and I’m not personally registered here. Honestly better than paletive care team. Thank you so much for your help
