Stopped here while we went to Ally Pally. Brilliant little hotel. We ate in the restaurant downstairs too. Amazing little place. 2 meals, 2 drinks less than 40 quid! I was well impressed with that. Rooms was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Amazing shower also. Only down side they wasn't a TV. But if you have your phone it's okay:nWould highly recommend this place.
We arrived and ended up waiting for a good while before the hotel receptionist came to the desk. The ensuite room itself was simple, clean and warm, the only downside being that the shower drain seems to be blocked, and there was a horrendous intermittent growling/rumbling sound every time we used water. Though, to be honest, it was otherwise perfect for a one night stay after attending a show at Ally Pally, which was literally a 7 minute drive away by car on a Friday night, so location was also great.
Do not stay here! The rooms are dusty and not clean at all with marks on the walls and has a weird smell. You can also hear everything as the walls are paper thin. The bedding is not fresh and uncomfortable. The shared bathroom facilities are old and not private enough and were also dirty inside. The rooms are also tiny with barely anything inside. Doesn’t feel like a hotel at all. This hotel just feels really eery with scary art work. Also when I went to check out the main door was locked so I had to call someone to come and open it which felt really weird. Reception also wasn’t helpful as they didn’t give proper instructions on now to get into the room.nnThe only good thing about this hotel is that it has McDonald’s and the underground near by. Otherwise it’s not worth the money at all. I certainly will not be staying here ever again!
Stayed here for a night, a while ago, when I had to go to a concert @ Alexandra Palace. It was somewhat affordable paid 28 quid for a night and somewhat close to the venue 20min walk.nnIn terms of service, it is open 24/7 or at least that's how it was when I did the reservation, so that was a plus, since I arrived there around 1am. The staff was friendly and helped me with whatever info I needed.nnAnother big plus is the positioning, because it's near the Wood Green Station Picadilly Line which gets you to almost the center of London Leicester Square in no time.nnThe rooms were pretty clean and quiet, so no complaint about that. The shower cabins though... they were insanely small - enough to make you feel claustrophobic, and the faucet was not working, so my only option was to take a shower using very warm/hot water that was continuously running such a water waste, with no option it make it cooler or to turn it off. Pair that with no ventilation, and you get the perfect recipe for mold which I later observed on the ceiling - so there's that.nnApart from that, I didn't try any food/drinks since it was 1am and the bar was closed, but there were some decent restaurants nearby, so overall it was nice.
If you can get a cheap deal then staying here isn’t a bad idea. The location is great for going to ally pally, walkable but there’s also a bus stop directly outside and also it’s right next to a tube station so easy to find. The hotel itself isn’t great, the room was quite dusty and overall didn’t feel too clean. There were marks up the walls and unused nails just sticking out of one. The floorboards are creaky and the walls are paper thin. In the night someone went into their room next door and it sounded like they had walked into my room. The lock didn’t feel strong enough to actually keep you safe either. Paid just over £90 for a small double room as just me alone but will most likely not be returning as I couldn’t sleep most of the night.
