On the whole not a bad stay. However we were given rooms on the top floor with five landings and there is no elevator. So you have to lug your bags all the way to the top floor. Our room had a shower and sink, but no toilet. There was a shared toilet on our floor, shared by all guests on that floor.Rooms: 3/5
Dover Hotel was a good fit for our short stay in London. Reasonably priced, very conveniently located, about 5 minutes walk from Victoria Station. The hotel was very clean, and felt very safe, and staff were very friendly. This is certainly a no frills location. There's no lift for luggage, our room was little other than a bed and a shower we had a shared bathroom option, and breakfast was cereal, yogurt, and fresh toast. If you're just in need of a safe place to sleep and keep your things, I'd definitely recommend this spot.
Certainly a budget hotel with small rooms, narrow and slightly uneven staircases, and very simple breakfast toast & jam, cereal, yogurt with little seating in the basement. However, rooms were very clean, bathroom was updated, and reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Not the kind of hotel to enjoy the room/amenities, but certainly good value near both Victoria station and Buckingham Palace. Rooms: No sugar coating it — they are tiny, bathroom likewise. But, all very clean and comfortable. Again, mind it’s a budget hotel in London! Nearby activities: Buckingham Palace is less than 20 min on foot and Victoria station less than 10. Shopping center right around the corner. Walkability: 100% walkable being very close to the river and main attractions. Food & drinks: Several sit-down restaurants as well as fast food joints all around the area and inside of Victoria Station.
Our room was at the very top with extremely narrow spiral stairs that we had to carry luggage up and down. The room was so small we could barely move in it. No a/c. Carpet was older than dirt. Breakfast was toast and cereal. Milk and yogurt had been left out so they were warm. This was way too expensive for what we got. Very disappointed. A hostil would have been better.
Comfortable and clean with friendly staff. Please note that the rooms and bathrooms are very small. Take care using the showers as the base of the shower becomes extremely slippery whilst in it and my wife fell over in it. Breakfast is very basic and not much variety. Walkability: Not far from Victoria Coach Station and Buckingham Palace.
Fantastic little hotel at a great price, with an incredibly kind and patient staff. Perfectly located to the train / bus station. Will absolutely be back.Rooms: 5/5
In the pictures you will see a big building but the hotel is just one little part of the building, the rest of the building has other hotels too. It does not have an elevator. There are some rooms on the first floor. The stairs are very narrow and deep. It is very clean, the room is clean every day, I did not see the thing you hang up on the door to don't disturb. The room is very small, you don't get any toiletries, the breakfast is in the basement, and they have cold cereal, juice, coffee, and hot chocolate. They offer yogurt and toasted bread. If you are going to spend your vacations in the hotel, this is not a good recommendation to stay, but if you need a place to rest and recharge for the next day on your vacations I definitely recommend it. Safety: We felt very safe, we came back one day later than usual and everything was very good. Walkability: It is very close to the tube and Buckingham Palace and others turístico places. Food & drinks: Around the corner you will find very good restaurants, in the training station you will find grocery stores, stores and some restaurants
I initially had booked another hotel but decided to change to Dover Hotel very last minute and i am SO glad i did. The hotel is very cozy and clean. My room was a perfect size, the bathroom was a bit small but more than enough. There is always someone at the reception, the whole staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also good, not too many options but it was good The staff is bringing you freshly toasted bread to your table, which is really nice. The location is perfect, very close to Victoria station. I‘ll definitely stay here again when i am in London again and recommend this hotel also to my friends. Rooms: cleaned every day, perfect size, bathroom incl. a shower Safety: quite area, reception always manned
Good location but the hotel isn't that great. Rooms are very small and poorly equipped. Service is ok overall. The room also tends to get hot in the summer.Rooms: 2/5
For a 2 star hotel, with super reasonable prices for this great central location right by Victoria station, this place is ideal. Yes the common areas are dated but my room was immaculately clean, the bed and pillows were comfy and the bedding was lush. The service was great - I'd forgotten my phone charger and they helpfully lent me one. Will definitely stay there again.
