I had a chicory and pear salad to start ... the chicory was very bitter. I had the sausage and mash to follow, which was a large portion, but still expensive in my opinion. I finished with the sticky ginger cake which was exceptionally good. As a party of 6 who regularly meet for Saturday lunch, this place felt over-priced - £37.50 per head (3 had 3 courses, 3 had 2 courses, one bottle of wine, 4 pints of ale, one extra glass of wine, no coffees). The service at clearing was friendly, but less so when taking out orders ... so, mixed. The decor was fresh, new and clean.

Used to love this place but last time we visited the food wasn't great - thrice cooked chips wasn't cooked. Staff immediately noticed that we weren't happy with food and removed the charge from the bill. I say the service is always great there. But still doesn't change uncooked chips being served. Not good really
