Lovely building, wonderful surroundings. Friendly staff and overall a nice set up with a great breakfast in the morning. Stayed for work purposes and would stay again. Negatives; artificial grass in the beer garden.. A shame when they're surrounded by countryside. Rooms were noisy; very thin walls meant I could hear a lot of what was going on in the rooms next to me... Horrible commercial radio in the restaurant in the morning. Loud and horrible pop/adverts being played.. Doesn't suit the hotel at all. Overall, 4/5. Good hotel and a nice place to enjoy a stop over.
Stayed here for 2 nights for work purposes. There was not a lot of free parking so could be an issue if you arrive late-ish. Staff lovely and friendly, couldn't not fault them. The bar and restaurant were very nice. Had dinner one night and no complaints...I'd maybe have liked my sticky toffee pudding to be a bit more sticky! But I have a sweet tooth! Rooms were a bit on the small side if sharing I was in a twin but all necessary amenities were there and lovely tea/coffee tray with a tunnocks teacake! Free WiFi was available but wasn't the strongest connection but enough to do emails etc for work. Beds were comfy, bathroom small but clean and again everything one needs. I do think the price was a bit high but expect it may have been impacted by The Open which was being played approx 25 miles away.
Lovely hotel, rooms were spotless and comfortable. Stayed on a bed and breakfast deal. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was really nice with plenty to choose from. Staff were pleasant and very friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here.Rooms: 5/5
Lunch here yesterday. Food was really good, large portions. Lovely young server. Warm and cosy but did get noisy later. Subdued lighting, be careful with steps if lunching in raised area. Good parking. Would be happy to recommend.Service: 4/5
A lovely place to stay, travelled alone for work and was made to feel completely comfortable. The rooms are beautiful and the food is gorgeous and the staff are so friendly. Thanks so much, I will be back again, goodbye city centre hotels!Rooms: 5/5
I chose this venue to host my husband's 80th birthday Afternoon Tea for 50 people and it was perfect. From my first contact with the hotel to view and book the venue to the event itself they could have done nothing more to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Carolyn and her team gave exceptional customer service and were very responsive whenever I contacted them. The Afternoon Tea was excellent value and dietary requirements were accomodated without a problem. On the afternoon itself the staff helped create a lovely relaxed atmosphere and were so helpful in ensuring that they were always on hand and were keen to ensure that everything was running smoothly. Family and friends stayed in the hotel and they were impressed with the lovely accommodation and breakfast. I'm so pleased I chose the Eglinton Arms for our special family celebration which was enjoyed by everyone.
Lovely small hotel. Room was pretty small with a decent bathroom. Breakfast was top quality. Very polite staff.Rooms: 3/5
Waited 50 minutes for two mains. Food was not the best .. tasted like frozen food The smell of urine coming from the toilets was horrendous. Pity , as it is a lovely hotel with nice surroundingsService: 2/5
Stayed at Eglinton Arms on business, a great little hotel with a lovely country feel. Rooms are very comfortable with everything you'd expect and with a nice bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is worth a review on its own, the food was excellent and good value. I was desperate to try the home made scotch egg. Clearly must be a popular dish as it had sold out. Would definitely come back to the Ellington Arms.
Location is great, easy walking distance. Service at the bar/restaurant was extremely slow, wasn’t given cutlery/condiments so had to go back up and queue. Rooms was perfect for what we needed as a family of 3 with an early morning flightRooms: 4/5
