Pi walked into the edgware ucc today, and i was surprised at how quickly I was seen by the triage nurse and had my xray done straight away and was then seen by a excellent senior nurse called Peter and olaf Peter was exceptional. Very knowledgeable and well informed about my health and had already investigated best options to help me and he assessed my hand and informed me of the choices the recommendations and was outstanding st how efficiently and expertly he was able to help me.nnIt's amazing to see such outstanding individuals in our nhs and they make our service stand out .. thank you for your help.nBest service I have received from the NHS in a while. We need more staff like Peter.
I was asked to go to Edgware NHS Walk in Centre by my GP for post surgery stitches removal. I was dropped off in front as I could not walk without a frame. The reception was efficient and took my details quickly. I had my NHS number and hospital letter and that was useful for the registration. I was seen within 30 minutes by a nurse who took down my medical history who checked my stitches and changed my dressing. I had left my phone at home and reception were kind enough to call my sister for collection.nnReally good service. The unit does need some investment as it is two decades since it was opened. Nevertheless with limited funds,it excels in what it does.
Once you walk in, you get stuck. No one knows for how long . The nurse will check you quickly for pulsing which was reassuring . Then you are back to being stuck ! Even if you ask various staff they all will get agitated and will tell you very clearly that they have no idea of your waiting time. The patients are prioritized so if you do t bleed your name will be keep on dropping down the line. So bring your lunch and dinner and be patient . This sounds crazy but true, perhaps the staff may be sick themselves. And for the staff : Please give your patients some indication of WAITING TIME when they arrive before they succumb to their injuries
We went there as online the timings were till 8pm and last booking at 7pm.nGot there at 6.30pm , took blood pressure and were told a bit on the high side and that the doctor could not see us as the doctor had left at 7pm.nCould not believe it , the timing said last booking at 7pm not doctor leave at 7pm.nWere advised to go to either Northwick park or Barnet A&E.nVery disappointing you tell someone your blood pressure is high and then advise that they go to another A&E to be checked out thoroughly, if this in itself won't make the blood pressure go even higher. That wasn't even the main reason of visiting the centre , tge main reason now became the secondary reason for the visit.nOne should be aware that even though the website says last booking at 7pm doesn't mean that you will be seen by a doctor. Please note this before going there as you could not be seen and have to run around again to get to a place where a doctor will check you out.
Well what a service second time I’ve had to visit here on a Sunday both times had excellent service, was seen very quickly even though today it was busy ! The staff here are brilliant Thankyou . I was in and out in 20mins with antibiotics for chest infection.
