It sickens me to even give the 1 star. I’m genuinely lost for words. How this surgery is still open absolutely baffles me. You’ll be stuck in a queue of 17+ people and still won’t be able to get an appointment. Also, I’m not sure if the receptionists are aware that it doesn’t hurt to smile every once in a while. So miserable and rude! A job description for this role would include things like being welcoming, approachable, helpful, understanding, empathetic etc. however these receptionists definitely have none of these qualities. How embarrassing.
Every time I ring the practice, there is no appointment available - either 8:15am or 2pm - I ring, on the dot, at the specified times and I am nr 8 or 13 in the queue! The receptionists are extremely rude and unprofessional!
My 71yr father is a patient and has been ill for weeks. You can't get through to this surgery and when you finally do after days and 1hr long waits being 28th + in the phone queue you get repeatedly told to call back as fully booked by rude receptionists. AVOID THIS PLACE! AWFUL, SHOCKING SERVICE. We have no choice no but to call 111 for an emergency Dr.
You can never get an appointment at this surgery it drives me insane! You phone first thing in the morning hang on the line for half an hour sometimes more to told to phone back in the afternoon for the same thing to happen again, this cycle can continue for a week and more. The receptionist thinks she medically trained and wants full details why the appointment is needed. I said to her today that the NHS moan that people do not use the service correctly but how can they when you can never get an appointment with the Doctor ......... Is it any wonder that people end in over crowded walk in centres or A&E !!!
The worst surgery ever! You call them literally 100 times and no one answers the call I have even witnessed all the ladies sitting at reception and stuffing their mouth with food with not a care in the world. I called 111 for a non corona related emergency and they've advised me to contact my GP for an emergency appointment to get treatment yet no one answers the booking line or even the reception line. I hope one day them ladies have an emergency for themselves or for one off their family members and no one is there to help them. Bad karma will come their way, they need to be sacked and the GP need to take on proud NHS workers who love helping people and working in a GP. Yes I said it. Unprofessional!!
Despite the understandable worries regarding the risk of catching Covid and the urgency of enabling my 94 yr old mother with severe mobility issues plus on medication to control cancer to receive transport to reach the vaccination centre, your receptionists at both Sefton Ave and Woodcroft Surgeries were extremely rude and unhelpful. They had no concern for my mother's welfare - one eventually simply supplying a transport no. which is only for hosp outpatient appointments - and the other insisting my mum is not housebound because she is not in a wheelchair or confined to bed.. in spite of being told that she can only move around the house with a rollator and cannot walk down the road. I was informed by NHS Volunteer Responders that GP's had to book their service for vaccination transport but your receptionist told me "we're not doing that".. After another phone call to the practice , I was asked my mum's name and told District Nurses will be delivering the vaccinations and they would contact my mum. Surprisingly...someone rang my mum in the interim regarding booking her vaccination ..but my mum was too unsure who they were. Knowing there have been scams, I rang the surgery to ask if anyone had contacted my mother - was told "No" - and when I asked who it could be.. was told " Your guess is as good as mine".. On ringing the district nurses dept at Edgware Hosp to find out if they had called, I was informed no arrangements have been made by our local NHS services as yet for either GP's or District Nurses to deliver the vaccine so the receptionist's information was incorrect. This practice is a disgrace to the NHS .. these admin staff are either personally disinterested in supporting patients , badly trained or told by their GP's or Practice Managers to present a barrier to patients to access information or advice from clinical staff. Whatever the reason, they should seriously consider urgent retraining.. they are not bravely treating patients at the frontline in our hospitals and not under any serious risk.. in fact, what are they doing ? - if they cannot take time to request clarification of what services might be available for infirm patients .. and do not even have the humanity to reassure? Thank goodness this is not my surgery..
The stuff and the manager is very unprofessional in dealing and resolving the problems. Especially the receptionist whose provide the services always repeating the missed taken and wrong advise in appointments arrange in phone and in counter. Non professional pharmacy doctors given wrong advise about the prescription and referral me to wrong hospital unit department causing me and my baby delaying in all hospital scans and appointments and missed some tests. The GP doctor has not very patient in listening what the issue and incidents happen due to he want to finish work on time and he has another one patient.
Waited 30 minutes to be connected this morning and I was told there were no appointments but had to call at 2:00pm. I will have to wait another 30 minutes if I get through. Then the receptionist hung up on me. Totally unprofessional! I called again three days running and was not offered an appointment. Then I found out that on Friday, 21/2/20 there was no GP in the morning. It appears that the surgery is staffed with a GP part-time basis. If I had known about this, I would have moved long ago.
Terrible patronising Doctors at this surgery, they could care less about their patients. I got my COPD diagnosis over the phone last May from the doctor and basically since then I've had lots of issues with my lungs, all they keep doing is shoving Antibiotics and Steroids down my throat and now they've basically said we can't help you, go to hospital.. They've never even seen me or continued to investigate my condition, they just seem to be using this Covid situation to do less and less. Apart from Dr Lamb this is the worst surgery I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with, disgusting.
One lady that works on the reception is very rude and doesn't give respect to patients at all. And overall it's not that good because today I called to get an appointment and I was told to wait until next week, which is really annoying because I was told 4 days before that I can't make an appointment at the desk straight away, that I have to make an appointment at 8.15am Monday, then they tell me that I can get an appointment until next week Wednesday although I'm pregnant and I still didn't see a doctor and I'm like nearly 2 months pregnant. Very bad service wouldn't recommend if you have a choice to go elsewhere.
