Where to start upon arrival I went to the desk the lady said she had trouble finding me on the system which I thought was odd because I had proof that I booked through Expedia and anyway... She got the manager over he also said that I'm not on the system and that they are fully booked  and said that Expedia failed to inform them of my booking...and tried to turn me away even though I'd paid for the night. He didn't seem to care. He tried to turn me away from the hotel and I said look if you turn me away I'm going to be on the street tonight because all my money has gone on this hotel room. So what did he do he put me in a dirty spare room I couldn't use the bathroom that was attached because it had crap in there that he  couldn't be bothered to move.it ..  on top of that I had a dirty bed with pubic hairs in it. He just didn't seem to care one bit that he downgraded me even though I paid the same as everyone else I think it's absolutely terrible service and I can see that he's done this to other people. It shouldn't be allowed. When I returned home I tried to get a refund from both the hotel and Expedia I won't be using either service ever again. I never got my refund and nobody admitted to being at fault. I paid £70 for one night to be told that I couldn't stay there and when I basically begged he put me in a dirty room. You tell me if that's worth £70!

Very good hotel, friendly staff, booked a superior room which was a nice size and with a balcony and view of the lovely gardens , breakfast was a bit disappointing with no full English  available, but included was fried eggs hash browns, cereals and pastrys  which were all very nice, the bar was modern with a good atmosphere and decent prices

I ordered a breakfast on my last day. It was well worth the money, I only wish that I on the other days stay.nnStaff were friendly and helpful.nnI gave the location 4 stars, simply because it is a little out the way, but I had a car so all was well.nnThere is parking at the hotel, which others I looked at, did not have.nnI would stay there again as it was value for money.

In room 1. No extract fan in toilet bathroom. No bracket for shower. Vanity basin base was not secured. No fire escape route and sash windows would not open.nThe bedding and towels were very clean. Except for booking in, did not have a lot contact with staff, but the staff were very polite.nLocation of the hotel brilliant.nNo WI-FI in basement rooms..

The room was clean, functional and basic. Staff responded pleasantly to requests eg additional duvets.nnThe general appearance was shabby eg broken latches and the accomodation requires attention if it is to match competitors.nnUnfortunately, I am unlikely to stay again or recommend that anyone else should do so.
