A quiet and small site with not many cabins. They're small inside, so they are a bit tight on space but still a really nice place to be in with all the amenities that you would need, and they're well furnished. There is an honesty hut for homemade jams, brownies, and fizzy pop. Most cabins come with hot tubs. However, they're not covered, so we couldn't use it due to the typical lake district weather!
Me and my husband came weekend just gone 8th to 11th March 24, really enjoyed our stay can't wait to return In September time. So peaceful and quiet lodge had everything we needed we also had our puppy she settled straight away. See you soon there is a Marks and Spencer near by towards ulverston, that we used a couple of times too and a Greggs, mcds close by. We had a greggs on our way !
Perfect area for a quiet break. Accommodation was to a high standard, clean and tidy. Never actually met anyone who worked at the site but did receive information via email and text..No concerns so no issues.Rooms: 5/5
There wasnt really any walks that actually leads following the lake. The hot tub was set to a sertain temperature i would of gave a extra star if u could control the temperature as it got colder due to the temperature. Lovely room and beautiful design in the bath room. Lots of space in the walldrob. The couch was a bit hard for my liking couldnt comfortable sit there for a hour. Sadly the wifi cut out at one point but we contacted the staff and it was back 24 hours later! Beautiful views though!
Camping review. The site was very clean and looked smart. The showers were clean and hot. But the Camping area was not for us. Only 2 tents at a time, so no choice to where you can pitch. We were surrounded by trees so the midges loved us, and the ground was full of tree roots, so you definitely need the big heavy duty tent pegs and a big hammer. Quite noisy at night due to big groups in the lodges and being so close to the other tent. We left 2 nights early after just 1 night there.
We had a 4 night stay here. It's perfect for a quiet holiday. There are some beautiful views from the local walks. The lodge was great, clean and tidy and very well presented. We had a great time and the kids loved it.Hotel highlightsGreat view
Absolutely stunning here! The best log cabin we have stayed in. The cabin was immaculate and so cosy. The hot tub was the perfect temperature and great for relaxing after a long days walk. A very good location as we covered alot of land and did alot of sight seeing/adventures. The owners were friendly and were only a text away if we needed anything will be coming back for sure! Would recommend to anyone wanting a perfect stay.
We stayed in Cumberland + with our 2 dogs mid June. Lodge furnished to high standard, everything you needed. Very dog friendly. Hot tub very welcome give warm weather. Location ticked box for Southern and Western Lakes. An hour to Wasdale and Ennerdale. Lovely open water swim at nearby Beacon Tarn. TV and WiFi fine. Couldnt fault really.
What a great 2 day trip this was! Pre arrival was communicated excellently. Arrival was smooth and our lodge/ cabin was amazing! “The cedars” lodge was unbelievable! Clean and fitted out beautifully. Great space, views and hot tub! Close to Ulverston and Conistion for shops and pubs etc, the South Lakes Zoo isn’t far! All in all, amazing stay.
What a beautiful place. When we booked this we saw the photos of tarns howe but they did it no justice. Absolutely loved our visit. The lodge was beautiful and clean and well laid out. Cant say enough good things about it, bonus ball was the jacuzzi under its own cover and lit up at night loved everything about our visit.
