Story

17 bedroom family run hotel and eatery located between Newby Bridge and Ulverston, we offer a warm welcome to both adults and children as well as delicious tasting dishes for people with gluten free, dairy free and egg free diets and those without. We have being running the Rusland Pool since 2009 our aim is to give all a relaxing and fantastic Lakeland experience and for our customers to leave us with a smile.

We came for a meal this evening and it was lovely!! The staff are so polite & friendly - can’t fault them! Food is delicious & lots of option to choose from on the menu! Very generous portion sizes and great value for money! Would definitely recommend and come again! :Service: 5/5
Just had a lovely lunch there, I had the steak and ale pie, it was absolutely gorgeous. Best I have ever had. My husband had the gammon which was so good as well. Service was really good and the girls were very friendly and professional. We will definitely be back.Service: 5/5
Absolutely loved this pub, the food was glorious especially the sticky toffee pudding devine!!!. We were welcomed with such warm and friendly staff who made us feel so special, even though we had not booked they accommodated us. They were amazing with my very loud 3 year old and even gave him a toy. What a fabulous place. And Iron especially loved his tea too Luke told me!! If you looking for a great place for a lovely family meal this is the place!!!!
An enjoyable lunch with family. All the food was delicious especially the belly pork dish. Efficient service from friendly staff. We felt lucky to find such a nice eatery still serving food after 2:30 in the afternoon, and thank you to the gentleman receptionist that secured a table for us at such short notice.
We stopped for a meal, and it was superb. The service was excellent and value for money too. The starter of creamy garlic mushrooms were the best I've tasted, also not surprised the sticky toffee pudding is award winning! Not heavy like others I've tasted, wonderful food great atmosphere and brilliant service.Service: 5/5

Staff couldn't be more helpful. Friendly and funny. They rushed around like whirling dervishes serving a lot of very eager customers delicious food. The hotel is very good. Food is excellent a little pricey but you have to pay for quality and it is real quality. Had Cumberland sausage first night oh my god fantastic. Rooms are lovely beds not too bad. I only say this cos I have a very expensive mattress at home and no-one is going to beat that one. Breakfast again fantastic. Help yourself to toast bonus. Sausage egg bacon and beans with hash browns and mushrooms. Delicious. Evening meal second day was beef stroganoff again fantastic standard. Chef is amazing . Breakfast on third morning same as the first breakfast. Truely a really great hotel in a lovely location. I would highly recommend this to all who want a resting place in beautiful countryside.
Nice hotel, comfortable and clean bedroom, lovely evening meal and great breakfast. All the staff were helpful and polite. The only issue we had was the TV was set so that the volume couldn't be turned up beyond what seemed to be a whisper. I can fully understand why this was done but to my old ears it was so low my wife and I finished up turning the TV off. I would still recommend Rusland Pool Hotel whole heartedly.
We arrived at 4.45pm for tea, and have never been beforehand. Not quite what I expected.The table next to us were already eating whilst we browsed the menu and were discussing Thier meal. They were eating fish and chips and scampi. Comments I heard were "too greasy, definitely frozen", then the server came to them and asked is everything ok,to which the whole table said "No terrible". So that was it for me, no chance of spending £15 each on a meal.
We used the hotel as a base of operations for a four day explore of the Lakes. Cracking restaurant, comfortable room and absolutely wonderful, friendly staff. I really hope we can go back sometime. What a gem of a hotel.Rooms: 5/5
