Everything about this pub is fantastic. I have eaten here quite a lot and I can say that there is no bad meal. Tasty Homemade Pies, Amazing salt and pepper chicken, Best burger around, Awesome chicken burgers, Absolutely fantastic gammon. The chips are out of this world. Homemade chips which are thick and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are really good and the price of a meal is affordable and great value. The pub has plenty of character, and all the locals are friendly. The owners Sam and Steve are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. The bar staff are a credit to the pub. Good choice of beers and not overpriced. Outstanding pub set in a beautiful part of Cumbria.
Booked for food. Nice pub, good atmosphere. Great log fire. Good choice of beers. Food fairly standard but very nice. Pies reputedly awesome, but didn't try these. Service quite relaxed timewise.Service: 4/5
Beautiful little pub, extremely pleasant staff and the food was delicious. Definitely recommendRooms: 5/5
Always a great evening. A warm welcome, great service, and good value for money. They understand what they are and deliver good quality traditional pub food. I would prefer a better selection of real ales, but I am sure most people would be quite happy with the selection of drinks.Service: 5/5
Stopped off here for food and it was disappointing to say the least, most of the menu wasn’t available , the room we sat in to eat smelled of dog urine followed by the carpets covered in dog hair and it looked like it hadn’t been hoovered for some time, lights full of cobwebs the seats were ripped with holes in tables were dirty. Service was shocking and the barman wasn’t presentable at all with an old t shirt and sweat pants! Not professional or inviting at all, definitely won’t be back. Don’t waste your money Could do with a good cleaner and refurbed and some customer service training
We chose to dine with a party of 6 this evening due to location and Google rating. All six meals were exceptional and there was nothing but compliments from everyone. I opted for the salt and pepper chilli chicken from the specials menu. All portions were very generous and cooked fresh. Can't complain about anything, even the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were more than happy to tip this evening. Thanks to the staff and chef for topping off a great evening. Merry Christmas to you all!
We went here for dinner on a bank holiday and the food was delicious! The portion sizes were good which is what you need after a long hike! Even though it was busy the staff were super attentive and helpful, cannot recommend enough!Service: 5/5
Amazing welcome from the staff and owners. The room was amazing. If I could give more stars for the quality of food it would be excellent as was the all round experience of this place. Lovely locations also dogs are accommodated for too right in the middle of some beautiful countrysideRooms: 5/5
