Went here just for the name, but it ended up being an absolute treasure. The food was to die for - we ordered off menu and the chef knocked up a delicious mushroom risotto out of thin air, cooked to perfection. After drinking a yard of ale and learning about the history of the place (the building is 600 years old!) we stayed the night and had a wonderful bath and a very comfortable sleep

Had a brilliant Sunday roast. The outside of the building (which is underwhelming) belies the fantastic restaurant/pub beyond. I would highly recommend having lunch and a few drinks here. Prices are good, service is good and quality is great. Good for groups if you book ahead.

The staff was very accommodating even tho I hadn't book a table in advance during bank holiday. Food was nice and very well presented, I would eat there again
