The owner was brilliant can't fault the service. Room was good size and clean. Should have more chairs in the room with coffee table and more electric sockets nearer the bed. Middle of no where so nothing to see or do unless you are willing to drive. Food was excellentRooms: 3/5
Traditional village inn. Room was comfy with a modern bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and there's a nice atmosphere in the bar. Lovely quiet village setting but not far off the main road.Rooms: 4/5
We loved this place! Proper pub. Good pub food done well in front of a fire and great local beers. Comfortable room, lovely shower, enjoyed the window seat with a view. They were very welcoming and chilled and kind to our dog. Perfect full English in the morning. I hope the rest of our holiday is as great.
Nice country pub. Good foof and good ales. Friendly staff. Good loos.Service: 5/5
Tried to dine last night but due to it being bank holiday the pub was full to bursting. Second time lucky tonight, and well worth the wait. Food all beautifully cooked fresh to order, great range and prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend
Second time we have stayed here after the Cartmel races and as fantastic as our first stay . Lovely little pub, good beer nice home cooked food and one of the best breakfasts around , real gem of a place . Thanks and hopefully be back next year .Rooms: 5/5
A fantastic place & a superb location nestled between the A5082 & the approach to Coniston Waters / Lake. They serve fantastic cooked food home style & the bar serves great local brews including The Great Corby Stout. Walkability: Great Walks
Lovely little pub with a nice little selection of beers on tap, friendly service. We stayed a couple of nights and everything exceeded expectations. Comfortable beds, foam mattress not too soft and not too hard, good choice of pillows, and the bathroom was really excellent: clean and modern with a great shower, good pressure. Breakfast included, with cereals, toast, porridge, full English, etc. A great start for the day, and relaxing in the bar with a couple of drinks was a great way to end it.
absolutely and completely the WORST dining experience I've had the misfortune of having to suffer as its the only place open DISGUSTING OVERPRICED AND DREADFUL AVOID AVOID AVOID
Had a brilliant stay at this cosy little pub whilst doing the Cumbria Way. Lucy let us use the toilet and put our bag in our room even though they weren't officially open until 5pm on a Friday. Evening meal good, atmosphere in the pub really friendly, room was clean and comfortable with a lovely bed and powerful hot shower. Breakfast was very generous and well cooked. Steve helped us with taxi contacts...nothing too much trouble. Thank you to you both, we enjoyed our stay.
