We had a great time staying here in our camper, the campsite is in a beautiful location with stunning views and we were blessed with amazing weather. The farm has all the facilities you could need, water, loos, washing up and the offer of electric if we needed it. We stayed for 6 days and the facilities were always clean. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, perfect little place for a getaway. We will definitely return! Food & drinks: There's a lovely pub/restaurant nearby called the Manor, we had a great last evening meal there, service was lovely and food was 10/10. Easily walkable from the campsite
I absolutely love this place! It’s such a hidden gem, it’s our second time we’ve been here and somehow it topped the first time we came! Carole was super happy to answer any questions. There were many walks to go on nearby. Such a great place to disconnect and spend time with the family. She provided us with logs for the fire in the barn. We booked two of the barns and a campsite for a tent. The faculties were clean and amazing. I hope to visit again!!
I enjoyed a very peaceful and quiet stay in September. Had the field to myself for two nights! A beautiful location. Plenty of room to pitch and the shower was very warm and free. Friendly, welcoming owners and a very up together and well maintained site.
Lovely peaceful site with great views. Instead of cramming as many people in as possible the owners only take in a few ensuring the site is peaceful and quite secluded. Proper toilets and showers instead of portaloos & well cleaned..only thing to note is you should be a confident driver as its a long steep single track drive to the site. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come again.
We've recently returned from a weeks camping here. What a wonderful place. Carole is a fantastic host. Anything we wanted was no trouble at all. So welcoming and friendly. The campsite itself is also lovely. Back to nature, no marked out pitches, you just camp where you want. Beautiful landscape. The facilities were immaculate. In fact, I think Carole is a robot because she never sleeps. We saw her early morning and late at night keeping the place maintained. Thanks again for a brilliant holiday. We shall definitely return.
I can't be more positive about the beautiful and peaceful location. Friendly helpful owners. Loos, showers, washing up facilities. Wide or large vehicles may struggle before you reach the access road. Nearby activities: Everything the Lake District has to offer, especially walking, swimming and watersports. Walkability: Access to public footbaths and bridleways straight onto the Lake District. Perhaps a stopover on a trekking holiday.
Great place to camp. Beautiful views and very quiet at night. Facilities were all clean and plenty of hot water in the showers. Didn't eat in the tea room but the cakes did look tempting. Carole, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating too. Would definitely like to go back!
Stayed here recently and it was a lovely campsite! Lots of local walking routes right from the site there's maps at the site if you need. Oxen Park and Bouth within walking distance, both have lovely pubs make sure you you call to book in for food. Great base for mountainbiking/walking at Grizedale also. Lovely site and owners, everything you need here. We got here in our LWB Mercedes sprinter just fine :
A lovely campsite with beautiful surroundings; not at all far from Coniston Water. We stayed here for a weekend in August and really enjoyed ourselves despite the weather! I would have given 5 stars but the dish washing area doesn't have hot water, only cold, which makes doing the dishes a little unpleasant. Moreover, there was a bit of a communication breakdown between us and the owner. When we arrived, we were given the key to the ladies and told our group should use only that toilet because of covid. There were 3 camping groups in total and 3 toilets mens, ladies and disabled so this made sense. However, part way through our stay another group arrived and started using whichever toilet. This wouldn't have been an issue if someone had let us know restrictions had been relaxed at this point after all. However, I'd left my towel in the bathroom to dry thinking only we had access and I believe another camper used it. Of course, if I'd known other people were using the bathroom I wouldn't have left it there to begin with. Just a shame no one let us know. All in all a good campsite, I'd recommend it for a short stay but not longer because of the sink issue.
This is a hidden gem of a campsite. We have just spent 4 nights here and almost had it to ourselves in August!. So quiet and peaceful, just the sound of birds, sheep and cows. There are some lovely flatish pitches with great views and a fairly new toilet and shower block plus simple washing up facilities. Big bonus, if you fancy a great breakfast, tell Carol the owner who is lovely, and she will cook you one up and serve it in her lovely tea room. All in all, if you like a quiet, simple campsite, this is a great find, I didn't really want to share it with you, but it deserves to be known.
