My husband and I had dinner here midweek. I went in to book a table beforehand. We were welcomed and shown to our table. The steak pie was excellent. Very generous portion of meat which was beautifully cooked and fluffy chips too. The veg was not overcooked. We also ordered an item on the specials menu which was a Corbie burger which was also very tasty. We were too full for a dessert. The two real ales on offer were also excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful regarding local knowledge and we would happily return there if we visit the area again.
Came here for food & absolutely loved it!nIts your standard pub grub venue but the food is of a much higher standard than your weatherspoons!
What a pleasure! The takeaway pizza we had was absolutely delicious. Great value. As for the lime & coconut cheesecake! That was fabulous! A charming young man delivered our food which made it even better. We shall definitely order again.nSheena MacDonald
Been several times before and never had any issues but tonight was very disappointing. After taking our initial drink order, no-one came to take our food order despite tables seated after us getting their food. We had to flag someone down. We eventually got our food one hour after sitting down at the table. Food was decent which was the only saving grace.nOur plates were eventually cleared away but no-one asked us if we wanted dessert or more drinks. Again, we had to go and get someone to come and take our coffee order. We had given up on the idea of dessert by this time.nA member of our party had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. At this point, when asked how everything had been, the slow service was politely mentioned. Another member of our party then passed to go to the bathroom and overheard the waitress bitching about our complaint to another member of staff, where other customers could clearly hear her. Very unprofessional!nWe had one food course and one round of coffees but were sat for almost 3 hours due to the staff seemingly forgetting our table existed. The restaurant was not busy enough to justify such poor service.nTwo members of our party had never been before and I felt embarrassed having suggested going to the Corbie Inn for our dinner tonight.
This was an excellent afternoon of good food and good conversation. The place is deceptive, it looks small and unimposing from the outside, but once inside, it's brilliant! Service was lovely and performed with a smile, however they missed one meal from our party - it was quickly corrected but formed one tiny blemish on an otherwise excellent afternoon out!
