Rooms were well styled and for the most part clean, only grimey area was in the bathroom around some of the seals and the shower head was filthy so i gave it a miss. Staff were friendly and helpful when found, wasn't a fan of traipsing to the bar to find someone to check in with, i feel the bar perhaps takes priority over the hotel ‍. The room was rather loud feeling like i was sleeping inside a boiler cupboard but for the price i can't really complain too much. Overal, looks nice but has some let downs to be considered.
Not keen on having to find the bar if reception has no staff. Maybe a wee internal phone on reception desk ? When staff are busy elsewhere. In saying that it is a very nice hotel and friendly staff. We had a lovely view from our Room. Would stay again if I was in the area. Highly Recommend
Booked for food only. Food was below average. Fish and chips were from frozen not fresh and the sticky toffee pudding was barely warm. Service was very poor. Waited more than 30 mins after finishing mains before anyone cleared away plates or asked if we wanted dessert. Place was also full of kids running around unchecked. Won't be back. Not a pleasant eating out experience. Interesting that they add VAT onto the menu prices on the bill. Prices on menu are not inclusive of VAT.
I booked a Superior Double, which is in the main hotel and has a king bed. When we arrived, we were told that dogs weren't allowed in the main building, so we'd be put in the annex. We agreed, not realising that the room we would be put in was a family room with a double bed that hasn't been updated in about a decade. The beds my husband slept in a single because the double was not big enough for the two of us and our small dog, which is why I booked a king we're supremely uncomfortable; very hard and every spring could be felt in the double, the right side of the single was basically collapsing. The pillows were lumpy and hard as rocks. Yes, we may have been able to change rooms, but it was, by the time we discovered all of this, 11pm, sub-zero outside, and we were already undressed.nnThe room otherwise was clean enough, though the carpet was obviously old and very stained. The furniture was beat up, and it had an overall vibe of neglect.nnThe lady that checked us in was friendly and helpful, and it was certainly cheap, but it was not a restful night.
Quaint little hotel with some rooms overlooking the North Sea. We found everything with our room great besides the bathroom sink. The hot one will literally burn your skin off in the sink and there is no meeting point with the cold water to help that issue. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Overall, we definitely would be back
