I met friends for dinner after their day of touring who are visiting from Canada and they loved the pub. We all really enjoyed our meals - Haggis, Neeps & Tatties their first time trying haggis!, Stovies, Fish & Chips and Cheese & Bacon burgers for the kids. The brownie & clotted cream was also a hit! The service & atmosphere was great - staff were friendly & helpful.
Great food and great atmosphere! The fish and chips was phenomenal! And everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked just as good! Staff was very friendly! Definitely recommend.
Nice place to taste Scottish meals and drinks. There are restaurant and bar sections. I tried Crofter’s Pie and Balmoral Chicken. They were tasty. There was live music on Saturday night. It has a nice atmosphere to have dinner or lunch.Food: 5/5
This was a welcomed sight after a long day of touring! The pints were cold, dram of scotch warmed my belly, the people were friendly and the food was good! I went for an early dinner around 5:30 and had no trouble getting a table. It got very busy as I was there. I got to pet the greyfrier’s bobby too! It is right across the small street in front of the restaurant!
Always have the haggis and never disappointed. Could do with a veggie haggis option though. Good beers on offer too. Friendly, efficient service.Food: 5/5
Great service + staff very friendly and helpful with dietary restrictions. I got the puy lentil & vegetable cottage pie - 10/10 one of the best pies I've had. The only downfall is because it's a popular stop for tourism it can be hard to find a table.Food: 5/5
This was one of the last meals had in Edinburgh. Friendly and charming place with a calming atmosphere and great food. It sits next to Greyfriar Bobby, a prominent commemorative statue of a Skye Terrier who became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner until he died on 14 January 1872.Food: 5/5
The bar had a great vibe and should not forget to mention, how nice it looks I would recommend drinking your drink on the street.Service: 4/5
Bobby's bar is just outside the Grey friars church and visited is mid-week after a ghost tour. Nice bar with friendly staff. Although I didn't eat, friends did and the food looked good. It came quickly but it was fairly quiet. Friendly staff too.Food: 5/5
It is a very cozy place, with a beautiful history behind it. My boyfriend and I had the famous pies of the place. I had the Fish pie, and my boyfriend had one with Haggis, like a classic meat pie. Both were good, but nothing spectacular. My boyfriend had a beer, and it was really good. The staff was very kind :Food: 4/5
