Story

In February 2010 CJ Performance Cycles opened its doors in a small premises on Klondyke (High Pit) in Cramlington, Northumberland.

Following a successful first 3 years of trading, in February 2013 we moved to a larger premises only a few doors down, The Old Rex Cinema, a former picture house. This move allowed us to stock more brands and more stock. The shop spans over 3000 square feet and stocks more than 200 bicycles at one time. Bike brands such as GIANT, LIV, SCOTT, CUBE, VOLT ELECTRIC, RIDLEY, GENESIS, MONGOOSE & WETHEPEOPLE.

In 2015 we will be opened our second store in Newcastle (Byker), the store went through a complete refurbishment and fit out to allow us to display new brands which CJ Performance Cycles Ltd has not previously stocked.

Newcastle stores stocks bike brands:
CUBE, GENESIS, RIDGEBACK, RIDLEY, SARACEN, WETHEPEOPLE, MONGOOSE, SHIMANO E-BIKES & VOLT ELECTRIC.

Both our stores in Cramlington and Newcastle house a fully open operational workshop on site for servicing, repairs, bike & wheel building. We offer all types of fork servicing too at our Newcastle store.

With each bike sale we offer our customers a FREE 6 week service.

We offer many cycle to work schemes, 0% interest free finance & Christmas Club.

NEWCASTLE STORE STAFF:

Our Newcastle store Manager Ben Reeve has been actively involved in the bike retail business for a number of years and is a very accomplished mechanic. There's not much he doesn't know about fixing bikes!

Gabriel joined us in July 2017 and is already making his mark with our customers. His workshop skills are of high quality and there isn't much he doesn't know about fixing bikes. An asset to CJ's.

Jamie is one of our mechanics and sales advisors he has worked in the bike industry for a few of years. Loves bikes! Rides in many competitions and is very good at it! Be it road racing, Time Trails or Cyclocross.

Father and son, Mark & Chris Jenkins, are the owners of CJ Performance Cycles Ltd. Chris fronts both stores in Cramlington and Newcastle.

Mark and Chris are both keen road & mountain bike cyclists. They can often be seen out in and around the local area on their bicycles and are both involved in a local cycling club. Mark in his younger days raced for his local club and has continued his love for this sport hence the opening of CJ Performance Cycles Ltd. Chris took up the sport a few years ago after picking up too many injuries playing rugby.
