Visited Cineworld Chesterfield to watch a very long film, Avatar 3+hours. There's a seating area in the foyer and plenty of choice of refreshments. All staff were polite, but one in particular was especially helpful and went out of his way to assist us. If there's such a thing as ' Cineworld employee of the month', then Jonathan should be rewarded. Excellent customer service. Thank you again for your kindness and support.
Nice place, clean and tidy, not too busy at all. Staff friendly and helpful. Only go to cinema every now and again. Usually to watch the big blockbuster type films as ticket prices are what you would expect at the moment, on the pricey side, especially for a family of 4. The only negative I have is the food and drink are very very highly priced. Overall I would go back.
It was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food and drink were overpriced and not a good selection, my Pepsi was flat. It was freezing sat watching the film and when you have arthritis you cease up in the cold. The film was fantastic but getting out of my seat afterwards was not easy.
Staff really polite and helpful. The building gets extremely cold once the film begins. Had to sit in coat and gloves. Unfortunately this is not a one-off situation. I'm a regular visitor and this now seems to be the norm.
To whoever this may concern, I have left Cineworld chesterfield Derbyshire half way through the black panther new movie 3 pm showing as I have felt intimidated and upset with two members of the team that have abruptly interrupted the movie! I missed two parts that were important and there for left! In the beginning there was a group of about 20 young males aged 11-15 through adverts as you can imagine they was a bit loud. A man approached the kids shouted at them. He then went on to tell the staff. The staff did come in and tell the boys. Since the movie started the boys were all behaving. As I understand it’s their job to come in a check they are behaving. The two male in doing so Alan team leader and cam shop floor come in and made there appearance know which then distracted two main parts of the move. The second male cam come in and stood staring at me which made me feel intimidated! I am a 29 year old women. Not a child! However I did have my 5 year old boy with me he was sat on the floor making no noise. As I left the screen for my child to go to the toilet in which the young males helped holding the door for him to enter and exit the toilets. I approached the members of staff in which cam was extremely rude putting words in my mouth and lying saying my son was climbing all over the seats! To which the reply from the manger John I believe his name was. Was just replying with I wasn’t there. Now I’m sure we all know about the customer is always right. And everything I was saying was being pushed to the side. I unfortunately left the movie before it was even finish. I am upset and disgusted in the staffs behaviour. I totally agree there are rules and policies in place. Being a manager myself. I do not feel as if it was handle correctly or professionally one bit. And I will never be returning to that cinema again!
Saw Empire of Light. V. powerful, brilliant acting. Makes me realise that, tho there's still a long way to go, things have improved alot in the past 40 years regarding racism, attitudes to women & mental health treatment. Was the early screening, hopefully will be larger audiences later on
No point trying to book tickets online. Site constantly spinning .give you limited time complete transaction then spins until times you out. Rang and no bloody help coz can't book with them. Tell you try again. Did same again .gave up in end
Been going to cineworld for years. When I was little, growing up and now with my little girl. Paid to see a film today as a treat. I’ve taken five guys and other food from exterior companies into Sheffield. Staff knowing and being fine with it. My little girl asks if she can have some food around 30 mins in. So I leave to go and get her a hotdog and nachos but look at the prices. I decide I cannot afford to be buying those. Spending enough getting to see the film in the first place. I leave the cinema leaving my daughter safely with my partner inside the cinema. Watching the film. I said I would only be a minute. Went over to McDonald’s which is 1 min across the Carpark. Buy my little girl a happy meal and milk. When I return I am told when entering the cinema I am not allowed to take the food in. I ask why. I am told it’s the rules. I asked what the rules are and why? I explain how often we visit Sheffield and how it’s never been a problem. I explain it’s for my 5 year old. It’s only a happy meal. I am told by a “manager” because it’s not food purchased on site. And because of the smell? This manager, WILL! Was not understanding one bit of the situation, made an assumption very incorrectly but hurtful that I had left my 5 year old in the cinema on her own!!! Then give me some story about how all he can now smell McDonald’s and it’s filling the room?! So he sent someone to go and tell my partner I wasn’t allowed back in. They had to come out and speak to me. I sent them back in so they didn’t miss the film and had to wait an hour for them. Then to find out the kids sat behind us had been to Mac Donald’s half way through also…eating it on the back row….they haven’t been told not to go back in! Absolutely ridiculous!! Will should not be a manager with the way he speaks to customers!! Also the cleanliness of the toilets and public areas are atrocious! I have photos of all but can’t post on her.
This is my local cinema and it’s great service is quick, lots of snacks to choose from and the ticket people are really friendly, giving it 4/5 stars as the only thing they could work on is there hoovering!
Booking easy. Seats comfortable enough. View good from back seat. More expensive than other companies and prices for food too expensive so didn't bother. Experience spoilt slightly by a late-comer who insisted we were sat in her seats -we were not- then had an angry rant during the start of the film before spending 20mins on her phone with a bright screen glowing. Perhaps someone from cineworld could have a wander in to check the cinema and ensure the experience is as it should be for all.
