Good night as always. Sound quality is a problem at times, but it's not a dedicated theatre like wakefield,its a cinema doing the best it can lovely old building, good parking.
The Paramount is a great venue, not just for films, but also live events, concerts, even a sing-along. The Christmas one was excellent and this Summer was too.
Great local cinema to watch blockbusters in. Tye staff are really friendly and there was plenty of choice. You can have drinks at the bar and it even has an interval to top up half way through the movie.
I took my son to experience this classic oldie. He was quite impressed but didn't enjoy the interval. I on the other hand thing it's a lovely old fashioned experience and enjoy the interval so I can stretch my legs and get a drink. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we were allowed to change our seats as when we booked we didn't understand the layout of the theatre. Unfortunately not disabled friendly as there are several steps at the entrance and if you book seats in the circle it's quite a staircase to climb - no lift.
Really lovely experience. I grew up near here and always wanted to bring my partner as I loved it when I was young. It's been well looked after and preserved, like stepping back in time in the best possible way. I took my partner to see Safety Last! As he loves silent movies and he was fascinated by the organ. Beautiful and seriously impressive performance by Donald Mackenzie who accompanied the film.nnWill absolutely be coming back soon.
