Collected vehicle on 23rd December, by the time we got it home it was evident this car had serious problems, strong smell of oil, clunking sound when accelerating out of 2nd gear. As we were going away for xmas we didn't contact garage until 27th December to be told to ring on 2nd January to arrange the car to be booked in and that as we didn't have extended warranty (which was never offered us) we couldn't have a courtesy car bear in mind we live 2 train journeys and a long walk away this wasn't acceptable. we were told to take to our local garage and they would sort bill out. our mechanic looked at vehicle their was an oil breather pipe unconnected which was causing the smell, however once this was connected the car was sluggish and missing, he could also here the engine knocking and advised us to return vehicle as it had serious problems.  After getting finance company involved they agreed to look at the car an provide a courtesy car as a gesture of goodwill.  We returned the alfa and explained we would email once home with list of faults. We stopped for fuel on way home in courtesy car and thought best check what fuel the vehicle runs on first, on checking online the vehicle didn't even have MOT. Rang back and was told to return the car and they would give us a different one. So drive all way back to be told oh, we don't have another vehicle you will have to take it to the garage around the corner! Anyway after two weeks of no contact our finance company finally got an answer that the alfa was an uneconomic repair so we agreed to let the garage find us another , we were promised phone call after phone call which never arrived! in the end the finance company told us that they had no choice but to recall the agreement and get the money back as we were getting no where. Through the whole process we had 2 phone calls of the garage 1 to say car was ready to collect and 1 towards the end after my wife had complained about no one keeping us to upto date.  Buying used cars you expect to encounter some issues, the way the issues are handled are a true test of customer service and you fell way short on all accounts!   looking at other reviews(which we wish we'd read prior to buying car) , I expect to see a reply twisting everything and lying! To anyone reading this AVOID at all costs!

With reference to your comments below our finance company were fantastic on keeping us  informed, unfortunately they encountered the same problems with your communication as we did and were themselves exasperated with your lack of communication, phone calls unanswered or fobbed off as we were.  With regards to us still trusting you and agreeing to find another vehicle it was simply as my daughter was desperate for her car as it was her birthday present!and we thought it would be quicker than waiting for refund how wrong were we!  The mito also didn't develop an uneconomical repair,  it was sold with an uneconomical repair, the issues were indeed present on our journey home however as you were closed by the time we arrived home and the following day was Christmas eve and my daughter's birthday the fault wasn't reported to you until 27th December once you reopened after Xmas period, so not such  a good deal.

Do not buy. Promised 12 months mot. Got 9. Replaced in 14 months... brakes front and rear... front tyres... radiator... windscreen wiper motor.... wiper blades.... failed an mot on brakes and tyres and emissions... had to send back after repeatedly hassling them to repair hole in exhaust that wasn't mentioned on advert.... there response was... Not under warranty... I advised had the mot been done... I wouldn't have had to replace some of the above. Rude staff. Take no responsibility what so ever. Disgusted at 5k for a car and I have spent more than 1700 quid in one year. Solicitors now involved.
