Under normal circumstances I would rate the surgery very highly especially when I come down to book my appointmens .  However I needed to make a nurse appointment for my other half. So I called a couple of times after 8.30 and eventually got into the queue system.  I made the appointment.  He decided he didn't need the appointment so I called again and waited as I was no 6. Deed done thought no more of it. Now got phone bill and it's cost me £12 to do the above! I then thought how many other people are caught in the trap of calling at peak times  (not free evening and weekend  rate) to listen to such a long message before you even get disconnected.  Why is this  not a freephone number?   I can't afford this again.

I speak as I find and over the last couple of days, I have had excellent attention.  I saw the doctor yesterday for a check up as I'd fainted the day before.  He booked me in for a blood test today and an ecg next week but they had space and did the ecg straight after the blood test.  The nurses were lovely, chatty and very professional.  The icing on the cake came when the doctor who saw me yesterday came though and said he'd see me TONIGHT!!  Great job.

With 22,000 patients this is a very busy practice. Don’t phone for an appointment on the day,  go online at 7.30. It’s much more efficient and you can book a forward appointment as well. It is a bit of a factory and the reception staff can be impolite - breaking off a conversation with you mid sentence to chat to a colleague- but on the whole they try hard and are caring.

Extremely difficult to secure an appointment on any day, especially over the phone. The best way to get an appointment is to go there and queue up to an hour before the surgery opens, totaling around 2 hours waiting time. Reception staff is also not very friendly over the phone.

However the GP's I have seen provide an excellent service, friendly and efficient.

I was with a surgery in Cippenham until recently moving to the Burnham medical centre; I’m glad I moved. 
The reception staff at Burnham are helpful and polite; at Cippenham they were the opposite. The doctors are also helpful and polite, as, in fairness, they were in Cippenham. I’ve had no issues getting appointments or my repeat prescriptions; the complete opposite of my experience with the Cippenham surgery.
