This medical centre is usually very good with great doctors who genuinely care for the well-being of their patients. However, on this occasion although the locum doctor was fantastic with my wife & son, the “GP Manager” going by the name of Elaine was very unprofessional. She was lucky she spoke with my wife & not myself as I would’ve expressed my dissatisfaction more than my wife could. In future I’d rather not liaise with this individual & ask for a different member of staff who knows how to address people in a professional manner. I’m sure someone who she “manages” has more decorum & is more suited to the role. If I was to rate the doctors themselves, I’d give top marks & say a personal thank you. Due to the incompetence of “Elaine” the rating loses 2 stars. Hope the centre finds a better candidate to advocate their services.
I don't recommend this practice at all, I wanted to book a visit for my 4 weeks baby, I have had letter from hospital as it was very urgent. I simply couldn't book a visit to the Hershel as none answer the phone by 2 days!!! next day I went the physically to book the visit and two receptionists ladies just said to me, you have to phone to book the visit, when I said I couldn't get it, she just said, really sorry we are very busy... yeah busy... I seen two patients waiting that day, and the receptionists ladies were talking to each other... this is crazy they should be shame by themselves. Btw the Hospital never should let us go to the GP, they should do the necessary tests instead. it's really sad, everyone pays the NI for treatment like that...
I called the Herschel Medical to make an appointment. I was waiting 40 mins and was caller number 18. Got to the front after 40 mind its my turn, guess what? Thr phone call ends and they hanged up on me. I don't know if its the system or the staff that cuts calls once its their turn and they get to the front of the queue. It's happened many times and at my previous GP as well. Must be an NHS thing. Also if u ever do get through they always tell u to go pharmacy to get medicines, which means u pay out of ur own pocket, when the NHS giverment supposed to oay for free for people on benefits. Ive paid my taxes when i did work for thr NHS, not to get servuce like this. Also take paracetamol is their advice theydon't want to give u an appointment even for a small child.
Every time I called Herschel Medical Centre, it took a bit of time but I always got through the best time to call is first thing in the morning, perhaps it was not possible to see or speak to a doctor on every occasion but a phone call from the Clinical Pharmacist CP is always guaranteed. All CP's are good but one in particular Mr Sachvinder Khela is highly commended. I just want to thank everyone at the Centre for all the help and support. I highly recommend Herschel Medical Centre to all for its professionalism.
I would like to thank Mrs Gurpreet Khela from Herschel Medical Centre since she really helped me with few diagnosis and understanding my health problems well. I would really recommend her as a wonderful GP!
Very poor service, can't get through to anyone on the phone, and if lucky getting an appointment, consultation will be over the phone, and they will diagnose you wrong, very very poor I will give them 0 out of 10 .
As with most GPs it takes a very long time to get through, but the receptionists and call handlers are always really helpful and polite. My only gripe is that my appointments seem to be, more often than not, rushed and my concerns disregarded. I know the doctors must be swept off their feet, however I always feel like a inconvenience when I attend the surgery. And with the new telephone appointments, it seems to be a little worse... Last time I called, the Dr I spoke to was rushing through her advice so quickly I couldn't keep up, and was getting frustrated with me - she nearly hung up the phone before she told me where to pick up my prescription!! Usually appointments are 10 minutes, she rushed me off the phone within 3. I cannot begin to imagine how stressful working for the NHS is, and I am sorry to leave a bad review...
Doctors are a hit and miss but there's always an appointment available and the nurses are really nice. Great service for tests.
Staff was very sweet . She advised me and was So supportive .
Booked blood test. Sat for 1 hour to be seen. 1 slow nurse working. Poor service and a waste of time.
