Nice clean hotel with large, comfortable rooms and staff very helpful. Only problem we had was taxi pickup to go to airport but not a problem of hotelRooms: 5/5
Being located just outside of Leeds and easily accessed from the nearby motorway made this a great choice for our stay when heading north to Scotland. Very friendly welcome and easy check in. The room was simple but adequate and my only criticism was that the mattress had passed its sell by date. A bit noisy and uncomfortable being an old spring style construction. The bar is a welcome addition as was the restaurant and bar food. Breakfast was exceptional. Overall a good stay but a new mattress would have resulted in 4 stars easy.
Just arrived home after spending 3 nights at The Grand Hotel in Scarborough. After reading previous reviews I was a little sceptical of our visit. However, from arriving to leaving, staff were friendly, courteous and professional and rooms were what I would expect, clean, tidy and had everything I could need. Looking forward to visiting again. Well done team.
The staff are very friendly and polite. We enjoyed our stay however the place is dated. If you are in a room that faces the road you may want to take ear plugs or something as all of Friday night all we could hear were cars racing up and down literally all night long! We had breakfast on the Saturday morning the food was nice but the plates were ridiculously small for an adult.
After getting up at 4.30am for work away from home I wasn't happy to be given the room photographed. I was upgraded for free - but the room was still not great. The bed is uncomfortable. The extractor fan is stuck on, and is really noisy. I've tried every switch in the room. The shower head was really leaky so pressure wasn't amazing and water went everywhere. The sink is cracked. The whole room smells faintly but not too faintly of sewage. The corridors are filthy and look like they haven't been hoovered in weeks and the hotel stinks of weed. Lots of road noise, but I can live with that. *Edit: just got into bed and the undersheet has just been left draped across the mattress. It also has some large-ish holes 2x2p size. Duvet case has some small holes in. Easily the worst hotel I've stayed in.
My room was clean and adequately suitable for a short stay. The food was OK, but not inspiring. The staff were available, but not particularly welcoming. I have stayed in a few hostels over the years, and the clientele were of similar reflection to theirs. However at £25 a night booked on their website, I got what I paid for, so no complaints
When we arrived there were room service plates and bottles left in the corridor which were thought to be from that day however, on checking out 2 2 days later, the same plates and bottles remained. We were awoken on the first morning of our stay by a member of the housekeeping team dropping something in the corridor followed by a loud 'for fxxks sake. Empty toilet roll on the bathroom floor and rubbish on the floor next to the bin in our room on arrival. Despite advertising leisure facilities open - they were not. Neither was the kitchen until long after 7pm due to 'only having one chef'. Not very good when customers require food services and, the hotel still advertise these as available. A very dated hotel that was overly warm and very loud. Won't be staying again. Hugely disappointed. Wrote to the hotel to discuss the above and 7 days later - still awaiting a reply.
After a smooth check in, I found my room to be very clean and spacious. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. My meals have been very good with plenty variety to choose from.buffet style. Travelled here on a National Coaches Holiday and I wouldn't hesitate at staying here again.
The food was very poor. The rooms were ok but needed a good clean, especially the bathrooms. One of the toilets wasn't working in a room for one of our group and nothing was done to rectify the problem. That said, the two female members of staff in the restaurant were fantastic. The hotel could be marvellous for those wanting a value for money lodgings if only a little more effort was put in.
Been staying here once a week for the past 9 months or whenever I’m in Leeds and can happily say it’s one of the best hotels I can recommenced. The night staff Jake, Adam & Danny are the most polite, friendly and joyful staff you could ask for. Always come down at 2-3am if I can’t sleep for a little chat and laugh, the night staff is what makes this hotel so comfortable for me. Overall: Cheap affordable price, clean and presentable rooms with tons of space, and staffs are friendly but the night staffs are the golden ones! 10/10.
