We had to deal with them to purchase a property unfortunately. This company is without a doubt the worst we've ever dealt with. They were rude & dishonest, refused to put forward our offers without reason, and we overheard them talking to each other calling us "posh snobs with too much money". The manager was particularly unpleasant, we dreaded having to speak to him or receiving any call from him. His aggressive attitude was exhausting. Having spoken to the owner since, the estate agent apparently tried to sell the property (for less) to a friend of theirs & it turned out the agent hadn't submitted our (higher) offer. We had to offer directly to the owner, which seemed to anger the estate agent even more. We saw no point in complaining to the ombudsman as we wanted rid of them, it became clear they'd deny everything, claim it's a miscommunication & probably have no paper trail. We left it some time before leaving this review so that they can't identify us, as we're actually afraid of their actions. The manager in particular seems to take personal dislike to certain people & can act very unprofessionally if he decides he doesn't like you. We know they claim the bad reviews are written by competitor Estate Agents, all we can do is assure you that we're real, and hopefully you realise this grammar is perhaps too good to be written by an estate agent in Manchester! We purchased the property in the end & the owner was happy as we paid £10k more than the previous offer, but it was completely against the estate agents wishes & efforts.

Whilst this branch boasts an impressive collection of (internal!) awards. My experience of Bridgfords has been less than satisfactory. They possess no customer experience skills and appear to lack any basic office or process management skills. They have the attitude of that once they have your money, they no longer care.

I have hadn't had to deal with them yet with regards to any property issues. There's been a few things that have given me a bitter taste of this company.

When going through the application process. You had to chase up to see whether the referencing and financial backgrounds checks had been completed so you could complete the process of getting the keys.

I had to pay a £50 fee (I appreciate this is less than the £100 they advertise as the fee) for a guarantor check to find out that they didn't need to but offered no refund on the basis that the check had been done.  However doing a quick google search reveals that is common practice for agents to use third parties who charge a small fraction of the actual cost that is passed on to the tenant. They should offer a guarantor check only if the other credit reference check gives a poor rating.

I was contacted regarding a flat inspection. They made no effort to specify a rough time they would be visiting or whether they require me to be there to access the flat. Surely you would know if you already have a set of keys?! I contacted Michael Roberts to try and arrange a time but I never received a response which I find extremely arrogant and rude.

we agreed a deal to sell my apartment with a fixed fee commission, once my apartment is sold, the've invoiced me £810 more than what was agreed initially. I am not going to do any further business in future with them.

My rating is 0 not 1. Unprofessional, never respond to emails or calls ! Too many employees for nothing.
Their fees are very very expensive! They made "some little mistakes" of £325 when invoicing me. Best advice I could give is stay away from those thieves. No wonder they  have a poor reputation in their own industry from their own peers

VERY VERY bad agency! They charge for a reference when you are leaving the property... £24! Just to tell your next landlord that you paid your rent on time and they took 3 days to do this.... AVOID them at all costs! Terrible service and rude staff

Also if you look all the reply to reviews are pretty much the same! Bridgfords you are a bunch of cowboys! How will you make money when letting fees become illegal in the near future! You may then have to actually provide a decent service!
