This might sound like a paid review but it isn't. We found this pub on a rainy April afternoon after walking for ages looking for a dog friendly establishment. They welcomed the 10 of us with open arms. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't to busy. Our kids were delighted with the choices they had after one of the staff went to chat to the chef about what they could have. From ordering to having food in front of us room about 20 minutes. Perfect size portions and a fantastic service. The staff went out of the way to show how dog friendly they were, with drinks and treats for both of them. If I had one complaint and its not really a complaint is that the slot machines take away a little of the look to the place. Hope to get back again 1 day and if i could give 6 stars i would. Thank you all.
Food was good but since we ordered more food at lunch they tool almost an hour to make it. I was because of holidays but still they could do a better job. Anyways, food was good. Loved pizza there.
Me and my partner had a bottomless brunch here and all I can say is AMAZING. Proper pub/ sports bar vibes with a great drink and food selection. Shoutout to Vicky who served us all night - she was so attentive, funny and made sure we had a good experience. Also a mention for Courtney, Ryan and Daniel put up with an overly talkative drunk girl I have no doubt the rest of the staff are equally as good at their job, I just didn’t have the pleasure of speaking to them. 100% 10/10 recommend - this is how boozers should be run/operated
Me & my boyfriend visited Akenside Traders last Sunday, and we’re so glad we did! We felt so welcomed and our server Kirsten was so kind, suggesting the pineapple cider it was amazing! and cheesy pizza when I couldn’t decide what to get! She even gave us some recommendations on what to do in the area whilst we were here, which was so lovely. Warm and welcoming environment and such caring and considerate staff, will definitely be back next time I’m in Newcastle! :
As our annual Christmas treat venue was packed out, we came along to the Alenside Traders. Ordered from their festive menu. The food was spot on, atmosphere buzzing footie was on! and staff attentive. Will return again.
great pub with a good range of food and drinks available! some really good offers like 2-4-1 cocktails and burger & drinks for a reasonable price. The pub has plenty of tv so great for sport and the staff are really friendly. Would defo recommend to others!
Staff were on the ball for our bottomless brunch on a Saturday. Wings and drinks kept coming until our time was up. Sometimes at other places it can be a struggle to keep the drinks coming, but here they were visiting the table like clockwork. All 9 of us left drunk, well fed and happy. A great start to our mates birthday celebrations.
Pizza Cone: Incredible, a must try!! Chris the Chef man, absolute legend. I’d recommend topped with Halloumi bar maid with the red hair is total gem and the gaffer too!
Great ambience. Had beer and few starters.
Staff are polite and professional good choice of drinks very reasonably priced and plenty of places to watch the world go by. Had a great time reminiscing when I went there every weekend back in the day. I'd definitely recommend a visit.
