An old fashioned community based public reference library and adult education institute. Really friendly and inviting staff, real mix of people using the place. Really nice to just sit, read and relax in the heart of the busy square mile.
Beautiful study area, quiet and spacious. It also has good selection of newspapers and magazines. Lots of courses and events in the evening. Staff are also helpful. However, opening hours are quite limited and wifi is slow.
I primarily used the Bishopsgate Institute Library on my visit. Although that's not particularly exciting, if you're looking for a quiet place to work, the Institute in the heart of the City is a fantastic place. It's easily accessible from Liverpool Street station, it's quiet, it offers fast internet connection, and it's rather handsome. It's like those libraries you find in Oxford/Cambridge with handsome dark mahogany shelves. You'll get a lot of work done here. As mentioned, its location is amazing. After all that work, a drink is in order. You'll find top bars and restaurant all around as soon as you leave the Institute. I may be talking about a library, but it still remains a bit of gem in the City. Well worth a bit of your time.
Wonderful place, we've been here for a few events and a course. Couldn't recommend it more! Everyone we have met has been very welcoming, friendly, approachable and knowledgable. Particular shout out to Shoun who we met this weekend. We popped in to ask a quick question, he couldn't have been more helpful and we could have stayed and chatted to him all day!
Great place to work- quiet with beautiful architecture. Lots of power sockets for laptops and doesn't get too busy. Free wifi with no registration needed.
Beautiful venue inside and out, great location and multi-functional. I've been to Swing Dance lessons here and also donated blood and much more!
A wealth of knowledge! Huge archives, great staff, requests for information are super easy. There are events and information days by a range of specialist interest groups too. The building is amazing to view even just for the Victorian architecture too.
Very good collection in the archives. Fantastic location. Really beautiful and spacious building. Staff is helpful. I only wish it was quieter. The day I went there, it seemed like some dance lesson was going on above me, or so it sounded with all the tapping.
What a great places with lots and lots of excellent events going on. I love their swing nights and they have a great list of up and coning events, shows and classes you can take to expand your horizons. Been here so many times and can't help but love it.
Great hidden place in the heart of London, quite really quiet place to get some work done. Internet works perfect and the desks are spacious and comfortable; is completely open to the public, so there’s no need to sign up to use the free wifi, newspapers or study area.
