Good library, very friendly and helpful people. So many books to read. Nice coffee. Very good quality free wifi. One toilet - hmmmm.
Full disclosure: I work here. But my colleagues are brilliant and friendly and very helpful indeed! Please come visit if you're interested in the stories one of London's most historic boroughs has to tell! Our website has more details on what you can expect and how you can book an appointment.
Great place, good selection of books, really comfortable seating and there is a coffee house! Wonderful spot.
It's been so easy to use the library's facilities to work for a day. I was able to get a library card with just my passport which granted me access to unlimited wifi, computers, charging my laptop, printing and the books. The cafe area is also convenient for a less quiet space if you need to make a call.
My local library is excellent and always busy which is great to see! It's bright and spacious with a big kids section, there are lots of computers and plenty of space to sit and read too. There is also a big selection of DVDs here which can be borrowed for £3 for 7 days so perfect if you fancy working your way through a box set or 15 over the winter months. There are self-service borrowing machines so you don't have to queue to have books stamped but there are also very helpful staff around if you have any questions. The only downside is that books can be borrowed for 3 weeks every other library I've used has been 4 but you can renew them online if you want them for longer.
Fine facilities, selection, atmosphere. Except they constantly play music. I'd hoped that a library would be an oasis of quiet reading and reflection, but the cafe insists on pumping out soft rock. It's a real shame, because it's otherwise a lovely library with excellent staff.
I visited this library in April 2019 and it was very crammed with people and had a guard present in the entry which indicates this place isn't safe. I sat down with a book for only a few minutes when I realized I was being stared at. A man sitting in front of me with no books or anything. Appearently he wasn't using anything at the library, he used only the place to sit and stare at people. He stared and looked very aggressive. I felt very uncomfortable and quickly left. At least have the nerve to question non-users why they occupy the library seats. Many people wish to use libraries for reading and to study. Staring at people for long time isn't a healthy behaviour.
Good selection of book ...also nice coffee and sandwiches
Been coming for 4 years with the children, prev good experiences helpful staff. Unfortunately today badly let down as a new male librarian vented his obvious frustration with his job at me in the children's section. Annoyed at having to pick up books that other kids had left in the floor, he blamed the one mum there- me- and refused to believe those books had nothing to do with me. Sad experience, two kids now uncomfortable with going to library. Verdict- great library, shame about the one staff member who let his team down spectacularly.
Great local library with plenty of choice for books and very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious coffee at the on site Mousetail coffee shop. Can get a little busy during peak hours.
