Just bought three books for 30 pence - this has to be the cheapest library book sale in the capital! Plus lots of interesting events advertised here - not my local library unfortunately, otherwise I'd be there all the time.
A real library with friendly staff and great monthly illustrated talks. Below ground level but lift accessable.
Have been a member for many years - selection of books excellent including multiple copies of best sellers. Dramatically reduces the proverbial wait! Good selection of DVDs and CDs. Has wifi and its own computers for free access. Hosts guest speakers - I have been to several of these. Hosts an annual quiz night and ancestry hunting tutorials. Last but not least, the staff are invariably helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Joining this library is one of the best things I have done.
I visit this library on my lunch break and I'm so glad I've found it. They have such a great collection of everything; fiction, history, travel guides, graphic novels. One of the more extensive non fiction offerings I've seen in a public library, and if you are interested - loads of DVDs and CDs for hire.
Great selection of books, and the sessions for kids are amazing and so creative
Very nice place for children play.
Amazing space for book-lovers. Very helpful stuff and lots of events for local community. Going there almost every week. I wish there were more libraries like that
It's a hidden gem. The kids area is never crowded and my kids love it there. The staff are always welcoming and friendly they really give you a good experience o always feel welcome.
Two stories beneath the Blackfriars area of London is Shoe Lane Library. Accessibility is great, with a lift going all the way down and the Library itself all being on one flat level. There are a couple of Barclays / Boris cycle bays nearby and the library itself has great facility's including free ebooks, online audio books, online language training, free pc use and free wifi.
One of my favourite library's .use mainly for the cd collection, which is nice and varied.staff are helpful and genuinely friendly.
