Faye prior is a great expert in detailing each story of the tour. you can tell she takes great pride in her knowledge of the history of the castle and prison. very well presented and a highly enjoyable tour. she also helped me propose in the castle garden!
Slightly disappointed with the museum as I thought it would be more about the medieval history of York however instead it goes through the era of the 60s and has exhibitions of the beetles and other decades. Worth a visit but won't be returning
Really interesting Prison Tour, with a great tour guide. I really encourage everyone to visit and try and keep this wonderful museum going. Serious Covid measures in place, without being too much. Visit this fantastic place!
It is a very interesting and amazing historical place. There is a lot to see and enjoy; streets, stores, different rooms and each one tells a story. Kids will have fun as well although some spots may look a little bit scary. It is located in the heart of downtown and you should not miss it.
An excellent museum, sadly closed due to covid but has been doing some guided tours which have offered so MUCH information. Truly an amazing experience and I hope they continue with this even after the museum opens up again.
Great day out. Its a great look back at times gone by and a very informative history lesson. Our guide James made it a very enjoyable and interesting visit. Safety is paramount social distancing and face masks have to be adhered to also small groups we had 6 in ours.
Really interesting and entertaining experience, like a museum crossed with a theme park. A great day out, and I do mean day.. This place is much bigger than it seems from the outside. Fun and curious, regardless of your age.
We spent a good couple of hours here, there is so much to do. As it was the school holidays there were events on throughout the week. My favourite part was the prison which was quite creepy. There is a gift shop and cafe on site too. Parking is just across the road.
Lots to see here. Learn about all different periods of history right up to the present day. Walk down a Victorian street where can you visit the sweet shop & buy a sugar mouse. Spend some time in the the castle prison where you can experience life in the cells. Great day out.
