Great old woody pub. Like stepping back in time. Excellent pint of Tribute. Friendly barman. Sun trap upstairs. Plays some great blues and rock music. This is the type of pub you want to visit in Cornwall.
Called in here today for a cheeky beer, we had become tired and weary due to the bustle of Buller Street. The refreshing sight of the landlord was a relief. Upon request he opened up the upstairs beer garden for us and our little dog. Had a pint and a relaxing 30mins or so to recharge. Bloke behind the bar Landlord? Was very friendly and accommodating, however being a Leeds fan I was taken aback by "Leeds" being printed on the urinals. Downside to this place is the plethora of steps, especially to the toilets. This isn't the landlords fault as he cannot change the building.
I won’t be visiting this pub again after having the barmaid barking out her orders. My dog was choking under the table so i raised it briefly to the seat to assist. which was away from the table in the middle of a bench seat. Immediately the barmaid barked her order mouthing FLOOR. I also witnessed her shouting from behind the bar at a child to go and wait with parents in the doorway. The child had got bored/tired and went to sit down. I understand children shouldn’t be near the bar area but there are ways and means to address paying customers, the signage was also very small and unnoticeable upon arrival. Once patents sat down, she was trying to direct them to sit around the corner. On finishing our food, the plates were taken whilst still chewing as if to get us moving on. This place doesn’t feel very family friendly for a lunchtime visit, more for the night scene unfortunately. We were not tourists, we live in the West Country and trying out some of the venues on our doorstep but this wasn’t a good experience.
Very welcoming, good selection of drinks, a Must Visit whilst in Looe
Lovely old pub, real fire great staff and dog friendly.
Lovely local pub with great staff, good banter with the locals too. Thanks again
Friendly staff landlady?. It was one of the only places open on a week day for a coffee in the evening and a beer for my husband. We popped in and were greeted by a lovely smile. We sat in the back room which was quiet but a bit tired looking decor wise. The sides next to our table were wet from a leak or something. Other than that, it was just what we came for and we enjoyed the friendly and community atmosphere and quietness of the back room.
Lovely little boozer great location right in the hubbub of Looe - friendly staff made very welcome - they sold Fosters that was a bonus for me excellent thoroughly recommend. As you can see from the photos the staff were always cleaning you feel safe here.
An absolute gem of a pub, fantastically friendly locals and landlord, great live music and fabulous ales
