After walking around the town trying to find somewhere that served food after 2pm, we came across the Salutation. It was busy when we walked in but we got a table around the corner which was nice and it was quiet. We ordered drinks and food at the bar. We had starters and main course. The food arrived in a timely fashion and it was plentiful and delicious. The atmosphere of the pub was nice. All in all a great place and great food
Dog friendly. Staff were really nice and had time to chat with them. Good food with plenty to choose from menu. Great selection of wines and not overpriced. Plaice with baked potato and petite pois. Cottage pie with chips
Consistently good, excellent home made food, good atmosphere, more like a family of people serving and making sure everything is ok for you. Traditional old English pub steeped in history.
Lovely log fire kept us cosy and warm, as we visited this venue for the first time this afternoon. However, we were disappointed to see that food wasn't being served as we hoped we could have dinner with friends. During the hour that we were there, we saw several people come in and ask for food, so felt that this is a bit of a missed opportunity. Pub itself has a cosy feel, and staff were welcoming.
Fabulous family friendly pub / restaurant. They accommodated our party of 7 for an evening meal and the food and service was fantastic. It’s an oldie worldly setting with lots of character. Very good value for money and would highly recommend giving this a visit if in town.

Huge portions!! Recommend the cheese salad but it's Huge!! Lamb hot pot is average and fish and chips is lovely. Cider here is great too :. Takes a while to get a service here too though, but staff are polite.
Wonderful atmosphere and great friendly staff there are thoughful and accommodating. It was my husband while we were away in Looe and they decorated our table for us. The food is amazing. Can't fault it.
Visiting family here in Looe. Looked through the window of the pub and saw a stunning display of Christmas baubles on the ceiling. The entrance door also had a beautiful display of baubles. It made you want to go in . There was a coal fire burning. What could be more welcoming. Friendly staff and good beer. If I lived here this would be my local for sure.
A good and historic"Olde English Pub" with friendly staff. They serve a good range of beers and have a homely and reasonably -priced menu. The food is tasty - especially the fish & chips. Parking: Town centre main car park is just a couple of minutes walk away, otherwise it can be difficult to find somewhere close, especially at peak season.
