Something odd is going on in this hospital. A family member went in for key hole surgery and ended up having to have life saving surgery because they perforated his bowel, 2 weeks later and he’s the worst he’s ever been. Over the last 2 weeks I’ve spoken to many people about this situation who have told me of others they know that have had the same happen to them or are currently going through it. I’ve even had a nurse speak to me privately to tell me I can have some forms to go down the complaints procedure. Please please speak up if you have a loved one this has happened to. Something isn’t right! I’d like to add that the nurses have all been wonderful.

I went to outpatients entrance 5 to do my chest x ray. Wythenshawe hospital is easy to find if you don't drive like me. It's about 5 min walk from the nearby tram station. On arrival I was a bit confused where to go. I asked receptionist which was very brief. I struggled to find where I needed to go as hospital is quite big and it can be quite overwhelming. Eventually I got to the right department. Reception ladies were nice. The nurses were lovely and made me very comfortable. 4 stars for the quick and lovely service. I came early, was don't with my x ray early and stuff was lovely.
Partner was admitted to A&E Weds night after a bike crash around 8pm, hour and half in got an x-ray done - great. Six hours passed and the initial painkillers wore off, asked for some more painkillers, was given them promptly - wonderful. Thank you to reception and the nurses that tried to help. Another 3 hours passed and he was finally called up...only to get his blood pressure taken for the 3rd time and told there were at least 6 people in front, estimated another hour and a half before he'd get seen by a doctor. I get that hospitals are understaffed and overworked, except this was the 3rd time we had been told the same thing, hours ago. It became increasingly frustrating when you're sat with a bunch of crackheads and drunks yelling over each other and several of the staff don't know how to shout, ESPECIALLY one - who couldn't be bothered to actually come round the corner of the reception desk, mumble a name and WOULDN'T even wait 5 seconds before plodding off again. Ridiculous. If you're hard of hearing, good luck on hearing out for your name! I would strongly suggest that when calling for someone, call TWICE, LOUDLY and CLEARLY, and WAIT at least 10 seconds. There DESPERATELY needs to be a CHANGE in the way patients are updated and communicated to, this is BARE minimum we are asking for here. Didn't get seen by a doctor in the end as we had enough, still in agony. There's better service at a McDonald's drive thru.
Visited A & E dept early Saturday morning and was treated very professionally and kindly from the moment I walked in. Each member of staff was friendly, understanding and very efficient. Great advice and help was given and I am now on the mend. Thanks to everyone involved.
if you are about to give birth do not give birth at this hospital, the midwives are useless and have the worst attitude i have ever experienced from people meant to be in a caring role especially the younger ones. if you are having a c section don’t expect any help whatsoever and they will give u attitude when you have clearly just had a baby and need help regulating your emotions and learning how to do things as a new mum . the most disgusting group of people i have ever met on earth i hope non of them plan on having kids anytime soon
The lady was being very cold during my scan and was being difficult about getting a picture of my baby, luckily my mother pushed her for it. She needs to learn people skills. I will say I had a lovely nurse called blessing, she was the only good experience .
I have been in the care of the cardio team for a short time now. I would like to express my Deepest appreciation for the care and dedication of all staff from the receptionist to the consultant preforming the surgery. The dedication of the staff cannot be praised enough. Many thanks from a grateful patient EVL
Got taken in with heart trouble stayed on ward F5 they were brilliant, everyone was so nice and they put your mind at rest, even thobit is a very busy ward they are always available.Ashlee and Mel were fantastic and I cant praise them enough. The only downside is the food it is a disgrace and am not sure it's fit for human consumption
I just want to say a very big thank you to the lovely lady called Karen in the Hand room! She did an amazing job! She made my sons splint, gave us lots of info, our appointment wasn't late and everything was done in 15-20 mins! Faster than most GP appointments ive attended! Thank you!!
