Extremely Disappointing Stay at a Noisy, Party Hotel My recent stay at Whites Hotel in Newcastle was incredibly disappointing. The room was in terrible condition, with the ceiling visibly falling apart. The beds were a nightmare, with all the springs completely worn out, making it feel like I was lying directly on the bedframe. The cleanliness was appalling. There was visible dirt and mold, especially in the bathroom, where chips were filled with mold. The amount of black mold behind the sink was disgusting. Additionally, there were earth leads going to the back of the sink, which seemed unsafe and raised concerns about the hotel's maintenance standards. To make matters worse, the noise levels were unbearable. It felt like staying in a cheap, party hotel. The bass from the speakers was so loud that it made the mirrors in the room rattle. It was impossible to get any rest with the constant noise. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. The condition of the hotel and the noise made it a vile place to stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant experience. Rooms: Dirty Safety: Easy to walk in no security on hotel side or the bar felt unsafe the entire time
Went to stay and this hotel yesterday 25th of march 2024 payment was done direct to them on 24th of march but when I arrived they said they needed £50 deposit before giving me my keys which wasn't explained to me when I was paying for the room for 5 nights I explained that I only had £30 pounds left in the bank till I got paid on the Thursday from work and didn't have any other money which I was happy to give the £50 pounds onThursday so I spoke to management to explain the situation and I got told that's the way it is. no compromise at all. Had to have refund but won't get money back for 3 days now and I explained that I didn't have anywhere else to go so had to sleep in my car as didn't have the funds available for a different hotel. This is shocking how this hotel has treated me. Please be aware
Another good stay at Whites, down for work again and it's the go to place for me, rooms are clean and tidy, showers always hot and bed is comfortable, shout out to the staff who are a cracking bunch, be back again no doubt at some point, cheers Rooms: Clean and comfortable Walkability: Easily walk into town in 20minutes Food & drinks: Great deals on food and drink
Don't bother of you value sleep. Being situated right over a bar, not to mention the whole of Osborne road is literally lined with clubs & hotels, you will not get much sleep at all. Loud music below you until 11pm, people yelling outside and someone constantly slamming doors will be what you can expect. The staff are lovely & I received a warm welcome but they can do little for the noise. Bring earplugs!! £50 deposit required upon entry in case of damage to the room although the room is very outdated and falling apart anyways so not sure you could damage it much further see pics. Bed & bedding was lovely & clean. The rest has clearly been attempted to be cleaned, but at this point it's just glossing over the cracks. Would describe this hotel as "extremely budget" and wouldn't recommend. Edit: was moved rooms when i complained and the noise from the bar & dj was a lot less however noisy neighbouring rooms meant I still got little sleep. Shower was not clean & riddled with black mold.
The ladies at the reception are really nice. One of them offered to bring diner to my room and the other one got me free breakfasts bags on departure. The beds are super comfy and everything is here for you if you ask the reception. I can only recommend if you are young and want a good value for money place to stay overnight. One downside is the Dj that you can hear all over the building but this is not a problem for me personally. Thanks for the lovely stay, we will back soon, surely :
the bar was lovley and staff seemed nice apart from the ones at reception, looked like they didn’t know what they were doing, my room was filthy and looked like it hadn’t even been hovered since it was open, bed was so uncomfortable and rooms were noisy, the worst part was that my door looks like it had been kicked in and wouldn’t shut or lock properly the bottom corner of the door was bent so i could see the hall way if looked through the gap felt very unsafe in this hotel and how it’s even allowed open is disgusting
Awful. Dirty, chewed up carpet with a random nail sticking out. A valance sheet over the bed that hides rips and horrific smelly stains. Music and football fans making noise til gone midnight. So loud it sounds like it's in the room with you. The good news is the room comes with complimentary breakfast - a paper bag with a nutrigrain bar and an apple. Note: the hotel will ask for a £50 deposit on arrival to cover breakages. Make sure you take photos of everything so you can't get blamed for the diabolical state of the room. You will get your deposit back within 2-5 days providing you didn't do any damage to the already damaged room. Nearby activities: I stayed here because my son was having surgery at the nearby hospital and I wanted to be close by. It's only a few minutes walk to the Nuffield hospital but staying at White's hotel probably meant I could have released a deadly virus during visiting hours.
Nice place for short stay.Well located near public transport.Problem with this hotel is noise from the club in the hotel,loud music and loud guests.At least they closed the club at 11pm but l was only able to sleep by 12pm after all the noise settled.Not good for someone looking for a quiet restful place.Rooms: 3/5
Stayed here for 2 nights worst 2 nights of my life room was dirty stains everywhere everything was damaged and trashed can't believe they rent these rooms out in this state they even asked for £50 deposit which we get back when we leave and they have checked the rooms which I'm yet to receive I wouldn't recommend staying there at all we even complained to the reception and was told nothing was wrong with room and reception was rude and very unprofessional.
Absolutely appalling "hotel" Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights over the weekend to have a get away. It was an absolute nightmare. One shower towel between us, radiators meant to come on at 8pm did not come on at all so it was freezing, no toilet roll, only one key card actually worked, located straight under the stairwell next to two public bathrooms and the bar door directly opposite which meant door slams, shouting and talking, and really loud music from the DJ all heard from inside our room. Breakfast served in a paper bag, really gross. Please don't go here, absolutely hated every second of it.
