Me and my friend stayed for one night as we were in town for a concert. The location is great close walking distance to everything you could need. When checking in and out the staff were really lovely and really helpful. The room was lovely and clean, really comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: 5/5
Great hotel in a great location. The ladies on the front desk quickly resolved an issue with the booking due to the global IT issues and we had a drink while we waited. The barmaid was friendly, chatty and full of life which is great to see! The room was quiet, comfy and had a balcony which was nice on a hot afternoon. We didn't have breakfast but it looked good. Bar prices are high but no worse than anywhere else in a city centre. Car parking is available under the hotel and is £14 which the hotel bill you for directly. Great stay and we'll be back again thanks
We have just returned from a one night stay. After paying for a deluxe double room we were allocated an accessible room instead - the accessible room was filthy. Extremely mouldy in the bathroom - pink and black mould everywhere. Should we have travelled as someone with accessibility needs this would have been a nightmare as the accessible shower seat was covered in black mould and filthy. Dressing gown was tiny and also had a very unusual smell. Room was also adjoining with another so we were awoken periodically throughout the night as the people in the next room stayed up until around 6:30am. Should the walls not be so thin/the adjoining door not being there this would not have been a problem and the people next door would have been able to stay up and party whilst we would have been able to sleep. Room service relatively pricey however arrived quickly and food was tasty. Location 5 minutes from station so very handy. Staff were friendly and helpful at check in but room needed a full deep clean before we arrived. Overall quite disappointed with the stay due to cleanliness.
Stayed as me and my wife had bank holiday weekend in Newcastle.. Excellent location for shopping and going out.. Rooms are good size, tidy and well decorated.. Shower excellent. Had breakfast and food was great, staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is an added bonus.. I paid £228 for 2 nights and think this was really good value and will stay again. Rooms: Well appointed and decorated Walkability: Close to shopping and bars
Me and my partner stayed here for 1 night and it was lovely. The hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to the train station and only a short walk from the shopping centre and the Quayside. The hotel inside was very nice and they offered a brilliant breakfast with a wide range of choices. Gavin on Reception was lovely, very friendly and a great assest to the company. We would very much stay here again.
Room was a bit tired and breakfast pricing was unclear. Somehow ended up paying just under £50 for a full English and pancakes plus coffee for my daughter and I. Great menus in the lobby/restaurant for all things chicken which had a good atmosphere and nicely decorated. Also a very convenient location, especially for St James’ Park. Staff were amazingly welcoming and friendly, and particularly Gary on reception/concierge when we checked in.
It's rates 4 star, I would only give 2. Reception is always busy and not available. I had to go down to ask for a toilet roll and bottle of water. The rooms are big, outdated, and very noisy if you open the window. Breakfast is made to order and tasty. However, the breakfast lady is very grumpy. They block £25 on your credit card for extras and release it upon check out. I suppose this could be for breakfast if not included as the minibar is empty in the room. It was strange. Mine was released. However, my colleague is still chasing them for a refund after 3 weeks. Would I go back? No.
Excellent hotel in the centre of Newcastle. The rooms are comfortable, the decor is lovely, and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast offering is outstanding. The only negative was very slow service in the restaurant for our evening meal.Rooms: 4/5
Not far from train station, 10-15 minute walk to St.James Park. Check in was easy had a really nice member of staff, who also added points to my IGH account as I found the hotel cheaper on here. Now what's meant to be a four star hotel the landing on the level our room was on looked more like how a hostel would be decorated. The doors had a coloured square above the door number which was then the colour of the wall on the door side as you open the door to your room. As I said this is meant to be a four star hotel, not sure how they've got this rating as the room doesn't compare to other four star hotels I've stayed in before or even 3 star hotels. We was on level 1, our room faced a car park and the back door that is used by hotel staff. It was a little noisy at times, I certainly wasn't impressed by hearing a member of staff hocking up their phlegm outside. The room was a little tired, we had 2 steps upto our bedding area, the bed was comfortable, amenities were ok, the bathroom door on the inside has paint come away and is peeling, the tap was wobbly on the sink, the shower was amazing, a little grubby on the edge of the shower tray. The only thing that stood out for us was the breakfast. Staff were polite and welcoming. You get a choice of hot from the menu which is freshly cooked in the open kitchen with continental as an option aswell. I would only stay again if the price we paid wasn't as expensive as it was, especially for a four star hotel.
Ordered room service, an hour and a half after it should’ve arrived I rang for an update. To be left on hold for over 5 minutes. They ended up ringing back to explain that my order had been missed, and the chef had already gone home. They were not able to complete my order. Completely unacceptable. Where am I supposed to get a decent meal at half 10 at night that isn’t fast food?
