The hotel was opposite the train station and near to all the transport options. Rooms -we had two- were spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was relaxed, plenty of room and food options were good. Signage for people who had food intolerance gluten free etc was good as they were made aware how they could have a worry free meal. We don’t have this issue but having a friend who does we understand the issues they can have. All the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. There was a lift issue, it didn’t affect us as we were on a low floor. We are aware however that people on other floors were sorted. Staff arranged for them to use the staff lift. The only issue I can raise is not in the staff on site to resolve- I like a brandy nightcap. I can drink French and Spanish brandy never heard of the one they had and it was not good. Can someone arrange for one of the brandies available in any supermarket to be put behind the bar. We would and will go back. To all the staff thank you
Excellent. Situated across the road from the Central station and easy access to the city. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed. En suite with a large shower enclosure. Room was spotless . Check in went smoothly and staff were very good. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. Busy but no problems. Overall this was an excellent visit.
A really great experience there at the end of June 2024. Staff was extremely helpful when someone in my party got ill. They made miracles keeping the halls quiet during the feisty Newcastle Saturday night. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean.Rooms: 5/5
Excellent location but that’s about where the good points end sadly. For a hotel operating under this brand, you’d expect better. Unacceptable noise from a bar 4 floors below, all you can hear late at night is bass from the thudding music and shouting in the street. The hotel charged me twice on my credit card. As with premier inn in Newcastle a burly and unnecessary security guard demands your name and room number if you dare leave and try and come back to your over priced room after 9pm. I won’t be returning.
The hotel is well located right in front of the Central train station. The double room I got was moldy. Linen was fresh but the carpet had a terrible smell. The air conditioning didn't really work. You could here a little noisy but not air moving. Breakfast was adequate, service was good. Overall, a good experience.Rooms: 4/5
Ideally located opposite the railway station. Good sized rooms which are comfortable. Excellent en-suite shower bathroom facilities. Good B&B option with plenty of options. Staff all helpful and friendly. There was a service offered to look after your bags after check out. Rooms: Spacious and comfortable. Walkability: Easy access to the city centre and public transport links. Food & drinks: Good range of hot and continental breakfasts. 24hr bar, which was reasonably priced.
Clean and nice rooms, good enough for one or two people. Quiet rooms. But only one elevator working for 7 floors, not good enough. Location is prime spot with plenty of Bars and Restaurants around.Rooms: 5/5
I stayed one night for a stopover trip from London to Edinburgh. I wanted to stay in Edinburgh but the cost of hotels was out of our budget. This hotel is in front of Newcastle station but very quiet. Clean and good breakfast. The Twin room was spacious enough for our use. All I needed was there.Rooms: 5/5
Check in was smooth and easy, Hotel is clean and fresh and ideally situated for any visit to Newcastle. Breakfast was really nice, plenty choice and nice and fresh. I was with my 2 daughters, one 26 and other 15 so we had a family room 705 the room was nice and we had a double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept in the springs were poking into my back, I tried everything to try and get to sleep , I doubled up the duvet, lay on the pillows tried the bath towels and nothing worked. In the morning I told receptionist who got the acting manager, now I wasn’t looking for compensation but in hindsight I bloody well should have , the manager repeatedly told me I could have called down and they would have moved me, on explaining it was 2 am in the morning and my daughters were asleep and I wasn’t prepared to disrupt them especially as my eldest has mental health issues and takes medication! I really felt the acting manager had this smarmy look on her face when talking to me and as I said I wasn’t looking for anything but hoped that by me flagging it up the hotel would take on board my comments and possibly invest in new mattress toppers or something as I can honestly say I’ve never felt so sore lying on that sofa bed. The beds in general are not great and compared to a popular hotel chain I’ve used before which is relatively cheaper and the beds are pillows are way more comfier. The manager told me they would close that room off, do I believe that, absolutely not, do I believe they are taking on board my comments again I doubt it. It was a busy hotel and heaven help the next person who lies on that ridiculous thing they call a bed. Walkability: Handy for everything in newcastle
Perfectly situated, clean, tidy, lots of friendly staff to assist even when it was busy. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of good quality choice. We had a 'its coming home' rendition, to celebrate england winning the semis the night before. Nearby activities: Across the road from the taxi rank and the main train station, 5 mins walk to everything. Safety: Reception and rooms only start at level 2 so very secure if people try and get in who shouldn't.
