A wonderful nature reserve with extensive walks through varied habitats. We set off on foot from the town & were very soon there. We then walked through woodland and downland towards the monument which is the focal point of the area. The potential for wildlife sightings is great but we went in April so only saw limited wild flowers and butterflies. They say the Silver Washed Fritillary is found there, so maybe other less common species may also be there as well. We will return in a few week's time.
The total return walk from town was 4.75 miles.
