There is no queue when I came to visit. You will have to book ahead of time to avoid delays. The place is well maintained, there are different interesting facts as soon as you get in. You can but a guide book for £5. The house is basically where he lived and grew up. There is a window sill where names of famous people who came to visit has engraved their names on the window pane. The birthplace is located in the middle of the town. It is best to get the park and ride bus. There was also a couple who was doing excerpts from Shakepears plays and it was so good! Worth going. Tickets can be bought online with options of seeing three places and valid for a year.
