A great cinema experience hinges on four simple elements: comfortable seating, quality food, a high-quality screen, and, most importantly, a DARK room. I’ve never encountered a cinema that kept the lights on throughout an entire film, and it’s incredibly frustrating. How can anyone fully immerse themselves in a movie when it’s barely visible? Today, I watched Nosferatu, a horror film renowned for its moody atmosphere and dark tones, and several scenes were barely discernible due to Vue Cinema’s poor lighting choices. I was appalled.nnCinemas are supposed to offer a unique experience, one that transports you beyond watching a film at home. The whole point of the cinematic experience is to be enveloped in darkness, with a massive screen that commands your attention. The staff’s explanation that the lighting was left on for safety reasons doesn’t hold up—cinemas have lower-level lighting around stairs for safety, but that doesn’t justify flooding the room with light during the film itself.nnWhile I understand this may be a managerial decision, it significantly detracts from the experience. To say this was a disappointing experience is an understatement. I will not be returning to this cinema, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a proper movie-going experience.
It's a good cinema in my opinion with lots of screenings so there's a variety of films on. But....nnDuring peak hours, it's definitely recommended to buy tickets prehand. I wouldn't recommend buying from there as the foods are overpriced, and you'll end up spending 5x more than the actual ticket itself.nnFor some reason now, due to security concerns, lights are kept on during the movie... it's a shame because you can't properly enjoy the movie.
A lovely, clean, spacious cinema with free lots of free parking spaces, including disabled parking spaces.nnTickets are cheap - £5.99, even cheaper if u buy online £4.99. Food & drinks are crazily expensive ~ a cup of pop is £4.99 & popcorn is £7!!!nnStaff is helpful & friendly.nnWashrooms are clean.nnGreat location with fast food eating places, restaurants, pubs, nursery, gym, bowling place.
My wife and I don't frequent cinemas very often but with the film Bridget Jones, Valentines and my birthday I thought I would book it so VIP seats in great position when we arrived was treated by a very friendly helpful young lady stating we were early but was welcome to stand outside cinema 9 until it finished and was cleaned?nWe was more than happy and we went to toilet the mens hadn't been served for some time with urine on the floor ?nWe waited half an hour and with commented that we hope it was warmer inside?nWe were told we could go in and to our delight it felt nice and warm.nWe was very happy with our vip seats very comfortable and roomy ? After about 20 mins I felt warm so removed my cardigan ?nAfter about an hour the heat snWas getting excessive but as we was on a special night just put up with it but was so glad it was over I couldn't concentrate on the film so actually dozed off a couple of times ?nWe got out of the cinema and got outside just to get some air ?nWe both said we wanted to get out but didn't want to spoil it for the other one?nAll in all service booking seats were excellent but the heat was too much ?
Absolutely shocking experience here at Vue. Me and my 2 friends were disgusted at the state of this place. It was completely neglected inside with messy floors. The staff member at the till was very rude and wouldn’t let us in as one of us did not have ID despite all being over the age of the films rating which wasted lots of time. Also, they had a problem with one of their screens which meant that the screening we had originally gone to see was unavailable and we would have had to wait 7 hours just to see the film we wanted.
