We stayed at Viewmount for three nights in September, and enjoyed our stay immensely. Christine is a wonderful person and a great source for recommendations of restaurants, walks and other things to do. Our room was clean. The towels were washed everyday. The shower was the best one could want and the bed was extremely comfortable. Christine had broken her hip weeks before our visit, and was using a cane, but the breakfast and service were all one could want. Viewmount is an easy walk to the town center. The house is set back from the road, and the grounds are carefully tended. A previous reviewer stated that dogs were allowed. This is not true. We would stay here again.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay here last month while visiting Portree on the Isle of Skye. The couple who runs the B&B are as sweet as can be! We stayed in the cottage just to the left of the main house. It was very clean, newly updated, and perfect for us. They are smaller rooms but it fit our needs and there was Wi-Fi and a little TV. You can easily walk to the town center in about 5 minutes but we just drove because usually we were headed out to explore Skye shortly after. My wife toilet girl and I are definitely going to visit Portree in the future and would stay here again. We loved this town and Viewmount!
We stayed for two nights. All in all we enjoyed our stay. The Host was very kind and uncomplicated. The Premises are a bit worn, Doors an Floorboards creak, and some tiles are cracked or loose. Watch out on the Frontstep The Walls between the Rooms are flimsy, you can hear litterally every word. But the Place is clean, the Beds comfortable and there is good wifi. The B&B is less than 10 Minutes walkingdistance from Portree-Downtown. Parkingspace is good. Breakfast is Basic, but plenty.
Very nice, helpful and friendly people as hosts. Abit outdated: needs firmer bed and new towels. Otherwise clean. Nice little walk from town. Breakfast was fine: ham, scones, toast, fruit, yogourt, cereal, coffee, juice, cheese. Could use some boiled eggs.
Don't stay here if you don't like dog smell. Sweet hosts, clean room which smelled great and breakfast was... Made to order. It's Scotland so the food is... Scottish. Good location.
Terrible !!! No Wifi !!! No Heating after 8:00pm, What a joke! It was freezing -1 Degree Celsius outside. Asked the owner to restore, then cut off again at 11:00pm, freezing cold in the rooms, No double glazing in 2 of the bedrooms, Booked 3 rooms for a Family visit with 4 yr old and both parents were in their 70s. Separated us into 2 buildings, one of the building had no wifi and very very tired mattress. Lady owner said to us "blanket provided should be enough". After much persuasion have provided ONLY 1 electric heater for 2 cold rooms!!! Install thermostat if you want to save money, not cut heating off. Never again, be warned, avoid.
There are way too many restrictions such as no eating hot meals in the room and no washing clothes! However Location is good and rooms are very clean and spacious.
Absolutely perfect time here, loved our stay, the hostess, and the food! Would fully endorse this comfortable and cute home for anyone staying on Skye!
Quaint cozy place. They welcome dogs. The owners are very friendly and they have a great breakfast spread included with your stay.
A little bit worn rooms but great breakfast! Kind owner. Probably a standard for the price at Skye.
