Abhorrent & dishonest tactics used against us. Firstly the nurses in the OOH emergency clinic that we met are actually lovely, compassionate and understanding, this review is of the Vet on shift at our time of visit only. In short, he gave us an ultimatum by refusing to give us our pet back, keep your pet in over night with a vet not qualified in exotic veterinary care and refusing to listen and read the information we tried to provide or... put him down. An dishonest tactic used against us, they know money is no object when it comes to someones pet, and this was an abhorrent way of trying to get us to spend more money with them. The best thing we did was get our pet out of there. Even though it took nearly 4 hours to get our pet back and get what we originally came for that was first refused to us. He is now back on the road to recovery after we ourselves monitored him until he could see a qualified exotic vet. We will make sure not to step a foot near this vet again and will be warning others of our experience here.
Not exactly brimming with bedside manner. Prescription item forgotten to be given to me so I had to remind them. No antibiotics or anything prescribed, had to return to my own vet the next day for my dog to be treated properly. Expensive and an upsetting experience. Even though I explained my dog has bad sight she was almost dragged into the building until I said again that she cannot see and needs guiding into places she doesn't know. She was quickly picked up which scared her as she wasn't aware it was going to happen. I got more sympathy from a lady waiting for her pet to be seen.
I used these services after the tragic death of my cat recently. It was a Saturday night and I had no access to my regular vet until Monday. The person I spike to over the phone on that night couldn't be more helpful. I brought my cat in for cremation the morning after and the person I dealt with never identified herself. She never showed any interest about what had happened and seemed to be only focused on the cold task of explaining the options and taking my cat. It was awful and it lacked sympathy and any kind of human compassion. Vets Now does not allow colelction of the pet's ashes and arranges for a courier called APC to deliver at their leisure. They showed up annanounced while I was out. I rescheduled and made arrangements to be in only to get a message laying and saying that I was not at home when they attempted delivery. Vets Now was closed and I had to deal with this myself. It took over an hour waiting on the phone to talk to someone and it was only upon disclosure of the sensitive content of the delivery that they arranged for the delivery to happen later on the day. It felt as if there was no respect or consideration for me or my cat and it was a totally unnecessary added grievance to what was already very upsetting circumstances. Vets Now has not contacted me with an apology but only sent a text to post a review and that defaults to a 5 stars review or a like on Facebook. The 2 stars are for the person who answered the phone on the night of the tragic event. I've noted the response from Vets Now suggesting that I email customer support which I did 4 days ago to no avail.
My sick cat was seen by Peter who is an excellent vet. He took the time to make sure I understood exactly what they were going to do with my cat to ensure he is back to good health. He helped work out the cost of the treatment and broke it down along the way. He repeated everything back to me as many time as I required. The wait was not too long at all and the staff at the desk were extremely assistive and approachable - and most importantly they are very active in their role and take their work seriously. Overall I had an excellent experience at vets now Ilford.
I had an emergency with my furry baby, panicking completely I called and the nurse was absolutely reassuring over the phone... She invited us to come to the practice right away. We were seen by a vet within an hour from my phone call, although I live far away! The vet and nurses have been great dealing with my boy and myself. I can not thanks you ladies enough to offer such a service at night! Knowledgeable team, kind... My baby felt safe and liked your place.
Emergency visits are never nice, usually in the early hours and expensive. However, this was my first time using Vets Now and I was very impressed right from the ladies on reception, so very nice, especially at 2.30 am, to the young gentleman vet who was thorough, polite and knowledgeable. On this experience, I’d definitely recommend them.
Very poor service, extortionate charges wasn’t bothered about the animal just taking our money. Didn’t carry out a full examination of our cat but charged us for it, Their advise was to take him to our vets if we were still concerned. I contacted them after the cat returned home still being sick and they said to bring him back but we may incur more costs. Over £200 later and the cat returned the same as he went there... Please avoid places like these need to be shut down....
I would love to be leaving a nice review but sadly I think the treatment is far too expensive and I’d almost say dishonest! We were given oral antibiotics for a week and sent home despite my dog being sick and couldn’t keep anything down. This experience came up to A little over £400, this was back in May and they still haven’t forwarded my insurance paperwork to my insurance company! Very very disappointed!
I took my cat for emergency treatment because he wasn't eating and he lost weight and energy but Vets Now vet did not carried out proper check and told us he is fine but I took him again to Goddard next day and they done proper check and they found tumer in his liver. My cat passed away within three days. Vats now are useless and I will never take any pet again to them and I would ask other pet owners to stay away from them.
The person I spoke to on the phone was so helpful, gave me advice via a vet and got me a very quick Sunday evening appointment; the two people on the reception desk were friendly and professional; and the vet who saw my cat was utterly wonderful - a lovely Irish lady whose name I can’t remember. And most importantly, my cat was so much better after the visit. A fab experience with a fab team.
