Brought my dog in for emergency treatment as he had a huge lump on his leg that had appeared overnight unexpectedly. Was NOT told on the phone that there wold be a premium fee just for seeing a vet. But okay, this was on Boxing Day so fair enough - I will swallow that. I asked if it could be paid through insurance as I didn't have the money at that precise moment, and the receptionists words were "yes I don't see why not". But when it came to making payment (treatment would be ongoing) I said that I would be adding it to the bill and will pay through insurance as we discussed earlier. "No, sorry we need payment today" is the response I got. She was very short and unsympathetic - not very friendly at all when I reminded her of our previous discussion. Again, like talking to a stony faced brick wall "no you have to pay today". I think Goddard need to urgently retrain their receptionist staff; from not being told of the fee to being told yes I can put it on insurance to no we need the money now! Extremely bad service from the receptionists, really not happy at all. The vet on the other hand was great, your support staff are letting you down!!!

I came here with my poorly small mammal and saw Dr Max Foreman, I was very impressed with how he handled my rat, he was very gentle. He constantly spoke to Lady Ratterly, reassuring her everything would be alright. I liked his handsome features and kind eyes. Since coming home Lady Ratterly has gone from strength to strength but keeps telling me we must return to thank Dr Max in person. Would not go anywhere else!

Thank you to all the staff for looking after my dog Franco. I have been bringing my dog here for over 7 years and the staff have always provided us and our dog with an excellent service and professional manner.

I recently visited the vet for a follow up appointment following an operation my dog had at another vets. My appointment was at 5:15 but I didn't get seen until 5:45. These things happen but it would have been nice if one of the three receptionist acknowledged the fact. Once seen the vet performed a check on my dog which took all of three minutes and this cost me £45. He also noticed a slight skin compliant on my and gave me a tube of gel for it. once at the reception desk to pay I found the gel was going to cost £30 so refused it, I then checked online to find the average price for the same size tube of gel is £9, quite a difference. Prior to this I took my dog in because he was having a lot of problems moving. He saw a vet who misdiagnosed his symptoms as a stomach issue. The meeting and medicine cost somewhere in the region of £500. A lot of money for a misdiagnosis. As my dog still had the complaint I returned and the vet he saw the second time correctly diagnosed my dogs spinal issue just from looking at the way he walked - The first vet didn't even look at this, she just squeezed his stomach. I understand that mistakes can happen but when a full check of my dogs condition didn't happen and I had to pay out £500 for basically nothing it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth. Over the last couple of months I've had to pay over £2000 to the vet and the more I visit the more I get the feeling that the people working here are equally trained in the art of selling as they are as vets.

I am having to express the same disappointment like other on here. We have been taking our dog to Wanstead for a year now and after several visits it became apparent that they are very money driven and try to prescribe all sort of treatments and addons just to bump up the price by using all sorts of pressure sales tactics. In addition to this, I am horrified by their bad customer service, especially after you try and put a claim through. In brief it took them 4 months to process a straight forward insurance claim. Now that our dog is due a check up we are looking for a new vet but also thought of leaving a review so that more people are aware that this vet doesn't really care about animals but money.
