I needed the TRP hybrid disc brakes tweeked on my CX as I'd lost all braking power. Excellent job done as they are difficult to get right. I have brakes, yeah. Sort headset as well. Cheers. Old review (2016).... Well done guys and thanks for sorting this out. I bought a new chainset from Planet X for my road bike at a much reduced price and, with Chris' help, looked at what was needed in terms of bottom bracket conversion. I sourced the BB from USA and handed the bike, chainset & BB over to the lads at Tyne Cycles. My technical skills are limited to say the least but it is just as well I didn't even try as it turned out. Chris wasn't happy with the fit of the BB & chainset and after speaking with the manufacturers (FSA) they requested both to be sent back to them. It seems the chainset pre-dates the BB and they don't quite work together although all technical info says they should. FSA sent a replacement chainset (2016 model). All fitted and working within a day of receipt. I'm more than happy with that. Cheers.

I have bought a few bikes from Tyne Cycles, and always use them for services. Excellent service, good product knowledge, would always recommend them....... don't go anywhere else, it's the best bike shop in the area.

Rude staff, terrible service and didn't fix my bike properly so I nearly had a fatal accident because of the shoddy workmanship! No apology, no understanding, no hint of caring about what actions could have resulted from their mistakes. Horrible attitude blaming everyone but himself and so i got it looked at at 2 shops who confirmed repairs were 'amateur' and 'shocking. Plenty of good cycle repair shops in Newcastle and greater Newcastle so shop around as this place is terrible and avoid it at all cost or you could end up having an accident.
