Excellent meal here and beer kept very well. The staff were lovely and there was ample choice for vegetarians and vegans. We will definitely return but would perhaps ask if we could be seated in a dog-free area as I start to sneeze sometimes if I spend too long too close to dogs...we were the only table in the area we were in without a dog...great for dog owners and this is not a complaint as staff had kindly fitted us in with less than 24hrs notice and they were really busy as it was Saturday night.
My wife and I called here on Sunday 9th July 2023 at 5.30 pm hoping we’d still be able to get a Sunday roast. We were welcomed into the pub by the barman who was extremely friendly. He took our drinks order, directed us to our table and then brought them over along with some treats for our dog. We later found out that he was the owner. My beer Wainwright’s Amber was very good and my wife’s Chardonnay wine was delicious. We ordered the beef dinner and after a short wait our dinners arrived. The dinner was excellent, nicely presented, hot and very tasty. Despite being full we decided to try the sticky toffee pudding and we were so pleased we did. Delicious ! I can’t recommend this place highly enough and if we’re in the area again we will not only eat here but probably stay here as well. Full marks for everything. Service excellent, food and drink excellent, value for money excellent. Thanks for a great experience.
I visited with my friend and dog last week while staying at Gill Head Farm for a few nights. The lady behind the bar was so lovely, and really accommodating of my slightly grumpy older dog who does not care much for other dogs. She ensured that we had a nice quite table and space to eat where we could all relax away from other dogs. The food and service was excellent, i had the vegan pie which was lovely. I will definitely be returning in summer for my next holiday. Thanks again!
Great value for bed and breakfast. Lovely view from my immaculatly clean bedroom. Evening meal homemade pie was excellent. Breakfast very tasty. Be aware that last orders for food and drinks is quite early. Rooms: Immaculatly clean. Comfy bed. Large walk in shower. Nearby activities: Aira force.
Just back from a great two night stay. Ideally placed to visit the lakes both North and South. The room was excellent. Really nicely appointed and clean. The team were really friendly and the food tip top. Highly recommended. Rooms: Really nicely appointed and clean.
Spent 2 nights at Troutbeck Inn to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful stay. Room was well presented, clean and very comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner, food and service were excellent. Great bar with cozy fire. Staff are very attentive, friendly and make you feel at home. Only complaint I have is I wished I could have stayed longer !!! Would not hesitate to recommend.
Booked a last minute meal here while staying in the area.. Staff were able to find us a table and were really friendly and made you feel welcome. Food was ok, nothing special Bit pricey, but that seems to be the trend. Restaurant did smell a bit of cleaning products, rather than food. But nice atmosphere and prob would eat again here, if they put a few more vegi options on the menu.
Called here before, it's now changed hands. The menu is different, so we ordered the pie and the fish. The pastry was rock hard, warned up to many times. The gooseberry tart was lovely.Service: 3/5
Troutbeck Inn is a wonderful B & B located in the northern Lake District area which is actually nicer and far less touristed than the southern lakes about seven miles west of Penrith. The owner is a nice lady who is friendly and checks in on everyone to make sure they are doing well. She has decorated the downstairs breakfast rooms and bar very tastefully. We enjoyed a few of the inn's meals and found them to be delicious. In short, our stay was five stars, and I would recommend to others.
Stopped by here for food before heading back on the road for a 4 hour long journey so I need some good food. Great little pub amazing inside so chilled, and the service was spot on thank you and the food was worth every single penny, amazing food thank you, I had the burger and it was cooked perfectlyService: 5/5
